Umm...what about CPT?
Can we start discussing our national tour too? I think we are getting close to being considered a major contender in the poker market.
Love to keep members posted about sats or events, if they are on a forum affiliates site.

1) What is the special airfare deal with Westjet Airlines?
2) Will Hard Rock Las Vegas have the standard 30% withholding tax on tournament winnings (unlike Canada and the Dominican Republic)?
3) Will there be any satellites online or in Ontario casinos for these events?
4) Please give the blinds structures for the tournaments, or the email address of the TD?
West Jet is 10% offf, I will double check that and I remember something mentioned at the Open about the witholding. I should hear about the online sats two days ago, 888 was the buzz.
Get that info fast as I can, e-mailing now.
888 should have packages starting next week, watch for them
The promo codes for players regarding rooms and flights are:
CPT hotel room special rate $99/night - Promo code "CECPT09"
For a 10% discount on airfare on Westjet Airlines use promo code "QC6120".
Special Deals at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino
Sunwing usually has some really cheap flights also.
I have the question in now as to whether there will be anything to help with holding taxs.
CPT confirmed with me today the the 888 (Pacific Poker) sat packages will start tommorow and the "landing page to advertizing them up Monday. Use the banner here at PokerForum.ca to sign up for any new accounts if you are intrested in playing for those packages!
The blind structures for live events are up at this link, they have done a great job geting all the info up as the players are requesting, and it includes structures for $120 and $290 super sats.
Canadian Championship Poker
Hope this all helps!
What about more events in Eastern Ontario, or Ontario in general? As someone who lives in the Ottawa area, there are the Quebec-based Hull (Lac Leamy) and Montreal Casinos that could host a large poker event. You could perhaps event rent space at Rideau Carleton Raceway, which is part of OLG, to put on an event in Ontario...
Have discussions been held with OLG or the Quebec casinos to become part of a larger Canadian tour? It seems many of the significant events are in Western Canada.
"Sorry, we have to follow the federal IRS guidelines which is very clear now. Any net winnigs of $5,000 + will be issued a w2-g and all citezens of a non-tax treaty country (like Canada) is subject to a 30% withholding. Although I understand it's not hard to get that money back.
"
Now as far as OLG and Ontario, from what I understand the CPT has a good relationship and with a few casinos but I understand the laws are tight. As far as Quebec, I made some cool friends their last night, who I am sure will answer some questions.
I will countinue to find better answers to why its so tough, I have other business I want to do there and need to fully understand their gaming first.
I am a rookie, but learning everyday. I know the right people to ask, unfortunately they are damn busy and hard to get a hold of sometimes.
I don't give up and I want to see this all get huge, Canadian Poker go international.
Talk soon.

Is anybody else on the forum seriously interested in going to Las Vegas for the CPT Mega Stack events (August 7 start up to 25th)?
I wouldn't mind doing something like Aug 9 - 12.
So far I see Step 1 $3+30. 1 in 4 to Step 2....$11+1 Then a $40+4 doesn't go past there yet
There is a $184+16 CPT Qualifier for August 6th, says $4500 package, 3k starting chips with 20 minute levels.
Also says more details to come, but is open for registration.
All I gots for now.....
withholding taxes for Qbama, no thanks, not only that Ceasers has a Casino now in Canada it's like 30 miles from my house, Vegas is like 3000 miles and hot as Hades armpit in the summer time.
I plan to finalize my hotels and flight this week, probably using both the Westjet and Hard Rock discounts. If I can get the days off, I want to be there in time for the 15,000-chip $340 event on August 17 (and 24).
