Taking "shots" who is for and against?

I am guilty of getting out of my bankroll restrictions at times, and this seems to be the worst mistake a player can make on one hand but important at other times.

I talk to fellow players as they bust out of games that they won into, and the question always seems to be, "Should I have just dumped the seat?"

I know I would ditch a WSOP seat and take the coin.

On the other hand, without trying a few tougher games it is hard to know what we don't know. Books can tell you, but experience is key.

For some it works out well, they should have moved up or are ready.

I love the bankroll management topic, love to start talking about others views in this thread.

  • Nothing wrong with the occasional shot IMO..

  • I love taking shots ^^'

I don't do it above my bankroll much though. It's more like i grind a few 10$ SnG's and use the profit for an mtt, I like the tougher fields and it doesn't involve much risktaking anyway
  • i'd most likely take the cash if i won a seat to the main event. however, with that cash i'd probably play a couple lower buy-in events.
  • Would definitely bank half the cash and roll the rest on a WSOP seat win. Wouldn't step up too fast though even if the role dictated it because I tend to get slaughtered when punching too far above my weight. Though I would jump into a couple of the $200 buy in tourneys for the experience.
