Not a bad beat

Went to school in Las Vegas yesterday. This is not to be a bad beat story, just a lesson I learned about self indulgence.

Set up. 1/3 NL at Caesars Palace. Villain – German tourist young aggressive, Straddles every under the gun. Raising any pot not raised to him and even some that are.

I am tight (anyone played with me will testify) How tight am I, I fart in b#.

My buy-in has grown by 50% doing nicely.

I’m BB with Qc8c, Villain is 4 seats left.

2 calls to villain Raises to $6 (min) 2 more callers I call.
Flop Qd Qh 8s
I bet out $18 (part slow play part looking for some payday.) folded to our villain, call all others fold.
Turn As
I bet 36, Villain raises 120 (I am salivating) He caught his A and perhaps A8 I push, villain calls.
Villain QsAh
Busted.
Did I miss-que or is this just the poker gods showing me that I have to pay more attention to the possibilities of the Villains hand and only the nuts is the nuts?
