Rake Free Satellites

Hey all..some friends and I are thinking on doing a rake free sat. for the BC Poker Championships in November. Buy in there is 3k. (2700+300). Is our best option just trying to get, and cutting it off at, 30 people at 100/per or get as many as we can and give out extra cash prizing? Is there any special structure for this style of tourney? I was thinking 5k starting stacks with 1/2 hour blinds??

  • Definitely think you want more than a winner take all as you probably won't get enough players if you don't. The other option might be to play 30 players $100. apiece, winner take all but have say positions 2-5 get a % of the winner. Say 5% for 2nd, 4% for 3rd, 3% for 4th, 2% for 5th. You could play with the %'s and number of payouts depending on player wishes...

I like that idea! That would give a bigger cheering section too..lol I don't think we will have a problem getting 30 players to be honest...
  • i suggest trying to mirror the actual BC Poker Championship blinds structure in your own satellite.
  • +1. You can adjust the blind length so that it will finish within your deadline.
