Banned for Collusion

Well my FTP account got banned for collusion. The player they say i collude with is a player i play with frequently, however we play agaisnt each other. We play at the lowest stakes together just for fun. My account has a large sum of money and im not sure what my options are for getting it back. Has anyone dealt with this before? I know FTP support is horrible... Im wrongly banned and i have alot of money going down with my account..... ugh this is horrible! I emialed FTP and asked to speak to a representitive on the phone.... but im thinking my chances of getting my cash back are slim... Does anyone have experiance in this manner or can help me fight this? thanks to anyone who can help!

  • I really doubt your ever gonna get your money back, how much did you have on there?

How were you wrongly banned? you were colluding with your friend and got busted. I doubt your gonna be able to convince them otherwise..
  • Yeah, definitely sounds like you actually were colluding....how much money do you actually have on there?
  • You dont get banned without proof, which is why I appreciate the fact that FTP and Stars have significant security departments.

Hope you didnt have plans for the money, because you will never see it again.

And to answer you question, no.
  • okay so i was playing at 5/10 c with my friend.... We never told each other our cards. I am a 1/2 player and had a bankroll of 2k. When playing with my friend i would do "stupid plays" and give him some money because to me playing at 5/10c is nothing. It was just fun and games for me and my buddy to play together. So because i do some suspicious play i loose 2k!? This is madness! Fulltilt poker also refuses to send me proof, their support team just sends emails saying "Our decision is final and your funds are seized!"
  • one more question. Does fulltilt now share this info with the other poker sites? I guess because of some dumb play at 5/10cent im screwed from online poker.. UGH.
  • lol at being a 200NL player with a 2k roll
  • [ ] OP stated that his entire bankroll was on FT
  • When he mentioned that he's now "screwed from online poker" I'm pretty sure that implies that that's all the money he had online.

    Ok, I had to..

As for what you can do, they must have had pretty significant amounts of data to show that you were colluding. They wouldn't just seize funds without being 100% sure that you were doing this to cheat other players out of their money. Sure, I could be wrong, but at this point it looks like you cheated and got caught. Even though the stakes were small, if you were making odd plays with other people involved in hands to chip dump to your friend, you still were stealing.

If that is not right and you are 100% sure that no people lost money as a result of your plays, then I suggest you find a lawyer. Sometimes a simple lawyers letter will help get them to fix the problem. $2k really isn't worth going to trial over, but you could try going through Kahnawake and filing a complaint. They license Full Tilt and I have heard some people have success going this route.

If you believe you are 100% innocent, you can also Pitch a Bitch at casino meister. If you are on rakeback, talk to your rakeback affiliate also.

That should give you a start of some places to go.

Decisions like this are site specific. But that doesn't mean go and collude on other sites.
  • First the guys says he plays "against" his buddy, then says he dumps chips to him. Whether it's one cent or a thousand bucks, it's still cheating. I'm sure the other players at the tables wouldn't agree that "it's nothing".

I love when people put stories like this up on forums. As the story unravels, the holes always appear and the grim details unfold.

If it is only at heads up games, he should have his friend contact them and say he was not cheating, but just playing some games for fun.

    BUSTED!! GUILTY!!
No further discussion needs to be done here, move along

Again, yep...even YOU have admitted it now.

They're not going to send you documents you already have. They will have the hand histories of both your accounts, as well as any logs from any IM service you were using.

Madness? Maybe. Should have read the site rules, huh?

    Graham...very disturbing video...please don't

    Hahaha

One other thing to add, FTPs security isn't that good and I suspect they found this because someone complained. I doubt it was your friend, so it looks like you cheated people and got caught. Live with the consequences. Your money is hopefully being distributed amongst the players that you cheated.
  • Every now and again...Just to check out the competition Graham....I check out the FTP forums.....Just to look of course....

On almost a daily basis, there's someone on there whining about having their account closed for stuff like this. It's incredible. Same story plays out over time. "I'm shocked! I've done nothing wrong! I'm innocent!!"....drags on to "I didn't really cheat. It was only a little bit....it didn't mean much".

Not sure if that means their security is good or bad. They sure seem to catch alot of people on there. Maybe they need more proactive security. Not sure how you'd do that.

As far as I know, Full tilt does not offer heads-up tables at the $0.05/0.10 level. You were playing at a 6-10 player table with your friend. Even if it was just the two of you when you first sat down, at such low levels, the table would have more-or-less filled in no time. So you've admittedly chip dumped to your friend (against the rules regardless) which increased his stack size which potentailly changed the way other players at your table had to play against him.

$0.05/0.10 may be an inconsequential level to you, but it is a meaningful playing level for many others. They won't appreciate you f***ing around with their game and you only need to come across one player who will be pissed off enough to take 2 minutes out of their day to contact customer services and, as you now know, your whole role (/ability to ever play on that site again) is gone forever.

I find it somewhat hard to believe that Full Tilt "refuses to send [you] proof". Based on what you've said, I think hard proof does exist. However, it would be very unreasonable (and a bad public relations move) for Full Tilt to confiscate anyone's funds without providing detailed proof of wrongdoing. You should ask them for multiple specific hand numbers (only applies if the hands went to showdown) and/or their full hand logs with the hole cards of both yourself and your friend shown. Once you get them, please post them here (you should delete your friend's player ID and can delete your own as well).

Did your friend also have his roll confiscated?
  • I don't know Lantern, from the grumbling I've seen on the FTP forum you pretty much get what this guys describes (i.e. a brief email stating you've been banned for collusion). They don't send you the hand histories or much else detailing the proof they have. Which is interesting in itself. You wouldn't even get a chance to see what evidence was used to convict you. Sounds kind of Guantanamo Bayish.
  • You got owned. +2000$ for fulltilt. Nh

That's friggin' brutal. I don't play on FT and I don't follow their forum, so I didn't know that was the norm for them. Guantanamo indeed.

I have, however, recently read one FT ban/confiscate story on twoplustwo in which the guy did received a few collusion-proving hand logs after e-mailing FT Security 3-4 times to demand evidence (which he then posted to the forum).

If OP feels his case is even somewhat in a grey area, I would definitely suggest he not let up until FT provides very specific details.
  • Not sure why theres so much discussion here.

It's called chip dumping, and it violates the TOC.

FTP puts this in there specifically so people cant launder money through their website.

You will not see this money again.

    /thread.
  • I hate online cheaters myself, but I always wondered why the site keeps 100% of the funds. If somebody cheated in 1% of their games and the site refunds the other players' losses in those few games, does the site take the rest of the cheater's lifetime legitimate winnings for its own profit? It's like the CIA seizing ALL your assets if THEY judge you to have performed a criminal act with no trial!

heres my point with my friend i played at 10/20 cents not even that frequently. We have about 200 hands played together! if you gave every person we encountered online a whole knew buy in this ammount would still be less than my 2k that i used for 1/2$!!! So what will Fulltilt do with all my extra crash

They will likely use it on hookers and blow....

Actually it goes into funding the freerolls for all of us who can still play on FT.. Thanks..

    POTD. Awesome.
  • so in short i get busted for shoplifting a 2 dollar pop then get a life sentence
  • Whatever, take your lumps and move on.

If you stole a $2 chocolate bar from a store, the owner would tell you to never come back. Ever. Same thing here.

Did you think they were going to have a long feel good sit down with you to discuss your options that are available to you? There's no healing circle on poker websites. No restorative justice. Have you ever thought about why there are so many cameras in casinos? Places where people gamble take this stuff seriously. You cheated, risked and lost. Move on.

If you're asking for sympathy, it should be abundantly obvious at this point...you'll find none here.

Oh buy the way, my wife won some $$ in a Full Tilt freeroll yesterday. She says to tell you thanks.......

Whether you steal a $2 chocolate bar, or a $1000 purse, stealing is still stealing. You aren't banned from poker, but rather FTP. It works in the same way as if you stole a $2 chocolate bar from your local convenience store, they might ban you from ever coming back there.
  • Exactly, you just happened to leave your wallet in the store with what you claim is $2000 in it. If it was my store...your wallet would be in the dumpster out back and I'd be on the phone booking a trip to Vegas! With $2K I'd finally be able to stay somewhere nice instead of the Sahara!
  • you claim is $2000 in it.
