    He's there working on a big advertising/affiliate deal that may make us all rich... Likely some hookers a blow as well..

    That's close. He's in Vegas.
  • He's in Vegas for a hooker and blow weekend, end of story :D
  • Damn his Godless soul to hell if he doesn't send us pictures. Envy is a sin, envy is a sin, envy is a sin...Must remember...Ah to hell with it. I like sinning!
  • Let's just hope that he doesn't get too whacked out and doing that in the wrong order because blowing a hooker is never a good idea.
  • Hahaha... hey all. In the airport leaving Vegas now. Didn't get online much this weekend because i couldnt justify a $15-$25/day internet charge at the Hotel.

    As for a Trip Report... coles notes version: there was a lot of drinking, I shot some guns, flew in a helicopter to the Grand Canyon, lost a lot of money and hit up pretty much all the budget casinos on the strip.

    Long version to follow.
  • Long Version:

    Friday
    ============

    Got in on Friday morning. Met a friend at the airport and proceeded to the MGM. Did the $20 trick and got bumped to a west wing room... not a huge upgrade, but I wanted that room anyway and it was at least $15+ more per day online.

    We dropped our bags off, and went for lunch at Hawaiian Tropic. Way overpriced but tasty, and we had a waitress in a bikini so I guess it was worth it. After lunch we headed back to the casino to do a little gambling. Played some let it ride (worst game ever). Started drinking vodka red bulls which seems to be what I always end up drinking in Vegas. About 3 drinks later and down $100 or so on Let it Ride, we decide to head to a cheaper casino. Hop in a cab and head to Casino Royale for their $3 craps. Craps doesn't go so good and am down about another $100 in an hour or two play, but still a good time and got some "free" drinks.

    I decide I need a break from gambling and head over to the Fashion Show Mall. I needed clothes. Bought a lot of new things because I got talked into signing up for a Macy's credit card to get 40% off of everything. Got some really good deals and saved a ton so it was worth it.

    Head back to MGM, gamble a bit more and decide we need food. Went to Craftsteak for dinner as my friend and I both had a craving for steak. Spent about 15 minutes trying to find the cheapest bottle of wine on their 53 page wine list, and then our waitress tried to upsell as to one that was twice as expensive... we declined and went with the cheap shit ($55 - :() Food was awsome, but a little pricey and didn't like how they didn't have a bigger selection of cheaper wines.

    After dinner we hit up the bar again. After waiting for a few more of our friends to get to town we decide to head to Ceasars to meet some more people. Go to Pure for like 15 minutes (as my friends didn't really like clubs) and head over to one of the smaller bars where some of our other colleagues are drinking. One of them has $11k in comps which he said he never gets a chance to use, so we continue the drinking till about 6am. After that we decide to go play some more craps (obv bad idea). I find the first table which turns out to be a $25 minimum and somehow only lose $25 of my $100 buy-in. After I find the rest of the people I am with at a $10 table and continue to lose the rest of my money. Time to head back to the MGM and sleep.

    Saturday
    ==========

    Woke up nervous that I have overslept my tour time, fortunately I had an hour to spare. Phoned up my friend and met for lunch then met the driver for the tour (they picked us up in a limo :)). Did a helicopter tour to the Grand Canyon, because I always regret not doing it when I come to vegas and I had never been in a helicopter. It was an awsome tour, the grand canyon was amazing.

    After we get back we all head to Ago (Robert Deniro's restaurant) at the Hard Rock for dinner. It is a little cheaper than most of the restaurants in Vegas and they have an awsome Pappradelle (spelling is def off on that). Dinner was awsome, but they changed chefs recently and I can taste the difference (used to be way better). After dinner we hit the craps table again and all go bust.

    We decide the casino is a little too expensive and though it is tempting to stay and watch their girls dancing in bikinis we decide to head elsewhere. Back at the hotel we have a few drinks and head over to Hooters for some eye candy and cheap games. Hooters didn't come close to living up to its name as I don't think I saw one attractive dealer and there were a lot of guys too.

    A bunch of my friends decide they want to hit up a strip club as it was one of the guys birthday's. I decide to hang back though as I am soo tired and need to get some sleep. Me and a couple friends play some let it ride, which doesn't go so well, and a couple spins of roulette then head back to the room to catch up on some much needed sleep.

    Sunday
    ===============

    Sleep in late and then meet up with some friends. Play the horses for a couple hours and manage to only walk away down about $20. Then we head over to the Gun Store to shoot some guns. Most of us go with the Gun store package which consists of:

    H/K MP5 SMG w/50 Rds
    AK47 Riffle w/25 Rds
    12ga Shotgun w/5 Rds

    This is my 3rd time there and I have always wanted to shoot the shotgun but had to work up the confidence as I used to think it kicked really bad. Turns out the kick isn't that bad.

    After the range we head back to the hotel with some cold beers. Order in a pizza to the room to try and have a cheaper dinner which can be hard to do in Vegas some times. After filling up we head out for a walk of the strip. First stop we head to ESPN Sports Zone at NYNY because one of our friends has some leftover credits. Turns out he only has enough for us to play 1 game, so that didn't last too long. On the walk we see people holding Eifle Tower margarita drinks and decide this will be a good idea. Only thing the guy warns us about is don't hold the drink by the top. After a bit of a walk we go to Oshea's to start playing some games. Start off at Let it Ride and play for about an hour. Sure enough midway during playing I grab my drink by the top and a bunch of it goes all over the floor.

    We hit up a bunch more casinos before ending up back at NYNY. There we decide to do some more drinking. Somewhere along the way we decide to head back to Hooters for some cheaper craps. My friends leave about 30 minutes in, and like a true gambling degenerate I proceed to play until well after the sun comes up. I had a great time with the dealers and go on some good runs (I think about a 30+ minute roll at one point). In the end though i end the night down and head back to the hotel for sleep.

    Monday
    =========

    Spent today recovering by the pool for a bit and then played some more horses and dogs (not as exciting as I thought it would be - I prefer horses).

    Thats pretty much everything. Need a few days to recover now. All in all an expensive reminder of how much I hate gambling and that I need to stop drinking.
  • Nice TR...your trip sounded alot like my last trip where I had ALOT less drinking due to the group I was with. Did The Gun Store and Grand Canyon for the first time as well.

    Definitely looking forward to July where degen happens again.
  • Ah nice... what did you shoot? I wish I did that with a lot less drinking too... I hate/love free booze.

    Same package, but I added the Desert Eagle and the M16 Colt.
  • Ah sweet... last time I did the coalition package which had the M16 I believe. The m249 saw was pretty fun also.
  • Do they still allow you to shoot the Barrett 82? Now that would be cool . . .
  • Graham,Graham, Graham!!!!

    what no blackjack? play the worst games, at least hit a couple of slots:)

    actually i have dabbled into let it ride for something different, it is ok for having a lil fun.

    my offer still stands if you are going back down in July, I can do some cpf main event reporting:)
  • Very Nice Trip Report.

    Why did you leave out the hookers and blow?

    Haha, oh there was some blackjack in there. Casino Royale has blackjack switch which was more fun. Unfortunately dealer pushes on 22 though, but its still worth it with the chance to change your hands around. I also did some slot play and hit a straight on the flop on 3 card poker (max bet 5 hands) and happened to hit the 3x multiplier in the same hand. Unfortunately there it only paid me enough to cover my share on the pizza we ordered that we were waiting for while playing (about $11).

    Thanks for the offer. I am still trying to decide if I am going to go back then. PKR rented the playboy suite at the Palms so it is VERY tempting.

    I'm inviting myself - called it.

    I don't recall seeing it. They had a police sniper, but that was about it. I remember seeing one of those for sale (or something that looked very similar) the first time I went there a few years back, but didn't see anything like that this time.
