You see...I am the opposite. I hate drama..I hate crybabies (even if it is an act)..

I really feel the game has outgrown Hellmuth. I won't be surprised to see him win another bracelet..christ, he plays enough tournies, he should.
He is obviously a great player, but, the game is changing and he isn't. With the onset of all the internet players it is becoming a faster, more push/shove game. While this shouldn't change the dynamics of the strategical game...it does..it takes away some of the pot odd advantages, positional advantages and just makes for more..well..."sit down and hang on" play. Players refusing to change will be left behind.

That all being said...I would love to suck out on him and have him go off...just to look at him and laugh...lol
  • i had hoped to find a clip from wsope that was on tv last night, he was going on even though he won the hand, lol
  • I like watching and playing with players who enjoy themselves at the table. Poker's supposed to be fun.
  • Phil's an anomole in my opinion. Obviously an incredible player. Obviously an ass at times. Obviously a drama queen as well.

But the kicker is, he's fun to watch. He's so stuck on himself that he thinks everyone on the planet should be interested in what he's doing/thinking.

My dream would be to be at a table with him and like others have mentioned, totally suckout on him repeatedly. Just to watch him freakout!

  • I much prefer watching Elezra or Farha. Sooo much class! and entertaining to boot!
  • You know what? I'm just watching this Hellmuth cash bash and everyone's needling him and he's being super classy about it. Very cool!

Elezra strikes me as a grumpy old man. Sammy is silky smooth . . .

I'd love to play with Sammy, but I'd keep an eye on my wallet at all times, so to speak. :D
  • I think playing with Sammy would be one of the most terrifying experiences imaginable. The words "raisy daisy" could mean anything from 'I've got aces' to 'hmmm, 94o...sounds good!" I was watching High Stakes Poker the other night and Kaplan said that Farha was actually raised in Mississippi or something like that. Very funny.

Elezra...good player, but exciting to watch? Don't really get that from him.
  • Hellmuth is surprisingly able to keep his mouth shut during this argument between Ivey and Doyle:

This is pretty cool. Of course... he's sitting there with a HUGE stack and a HUGE grin on his face.
  • He also has his earphones on...lol
  • Great video... I find Hellmuth to be such a whiney baby, but agree he is entertaining to watch at times.

    Here's a classic one...

  • I love Gabe's commentary for that hand! :D
  • Did they conclude the bet on last night's PAD regarding when Phil lost his virginity? I almost fell outta my chair when Dwan bet on 16.
  • I sent my wife to Phils UB seminar with Annie Duke. She found him very shy in person.

Last month at the canadian open I met him for the first time and he was very polite. It really is a TV act.

Not my favorite, but I think he is all right. If I had to judge by TV alone, wouldn't and didn't care for him much.

Gotta respect all that WSOP bling though!
  • he on same table as mike matusow today, LOL

wish i was there to see that
