What are Pokertracker 3 sng/mtt real time statistics benefits?

Is the software as useful for sng's and MTT's as cash games.

Obviously the sng/mtt results tracking portion of the software is usefull but I would think that with the increasing blind structure and therefore strategy changes during different phases of the sng/mtt that the real time statistics of PT3 would not be as usefull as in cash games.

Can anyone tell me differently and how to get any benefit out of the real time stats?

  • I wouldn't worry about those kind of stats for sng's because eveythings changes a lot when each player is knocked out of say like a 9man sng, stack sizes, and blind levels... so the overall stats are kinda worthless and things are way too situational such as stack sizes, number of players, position, amount of fold equity, ect. especially in later stages when it comes down to either a push or fold.

If I went back to sng's now the main thing I would do is study ICM like crazy using sngwiz. It's also good to get better at the earlier rounds too obviously, but a player that is better at ICM but not so good post flop will win more in the long run than a guy whos good post flop but don't know ICM.

For example, if you double up the first hand in a sng...your expected value in that sng does not change a whole lot, but it does when you can correctly play push/fold in the later rounds and studying ICM with a program like sngwiz is crucial.
