  • Ive had alot of trouble with Mastercard in particular, no matter what type it is. Tried 2 variations, never Capital One. However I dont believe it will work.

I now always use my wife's Visa. It seems to work most places. For example, it wouldnt post right too Party Poker... however it did let me buy a $100 phone card which is one of Party Pokers options... and then you pay with the phone card to credit your account. It is all instant.

Just a thought, go with Visa if you have one... it is your best bet.
  • call mastercard and tell them you want online gaming sites enabled . most mastercards wont allow purchasing online gaming unless you request it . worked for me .
  • My M/C works, and I didn't have to request it. It isn't a Capital 1 card though. fyi
  • So if you call them they can enable it so you can deposit at Neteller and even straight to the site and all that?
  • I peeked at Neteller about a month ago and have recollection of a ~ 8.95% service charge!

Yup, depositing from your bank account into Neteller costs you a whopping 8.95%. I need a better way. I missed that in the fine print when signing up. It's convenient but sheesh.....not cheap. I'm surprised how many people recommended Neteller throughout the various poker forums on the internet and not once (that I read anyway) did anyone mention how expensive it is to transfer money to them.
The transfer from Neteller to Pokerstars doesn't cost anything.
Anyone know about the fees the other way?
    Pokerstars to Neteller?
    Neteller to your bank account?
  • I have a mastercard through Bank of Montreal. The first time I deposited on a site, my phone rang within 60 seconds and it was a mastercard representative asking if it wa sme who made the transaction. I said yes.

I've used it numerous times since without incident ever (or phone calls).
  • Depositing from your bank account only costs you 8.95% is you choose the instant deposit method. If you are willing to wait a few days for their regular service it's free.

The transfter to and from Pokerstars is free. The transfer from Neteller to your bank account is free. And the transfer from your bank account ot Neteller is free if you aren't in a hurry.

what i did was deposit the minimum (13cad) from my bank account to neteller to enable the insta-something (whatever they call it) transactions, and i just deposit through pstars using a visa card (which is free) and cash out using neteller into my bank account (which is also free)

Thanks KevTheMac. I guess I was just too impatient. I will definitely wait from now on. I guess I should have read the terms of service more carefully but I was too eager to play.
  • yeah i use neteller as well to withdraw my winnings to....i deposit usualy directly into the sites i play on using my mastercard (credit union based) and have never had a problem... i also use a neteller debit card to withdraw my money rather than driect to bank acct, theres a $2 us neteller fee to with draw but no charge when using atm (if at a credit union bank) other than that a $1.50/insert random atm charge here fee

i have no complaints with neteller, except i have 35k in neteller pts i want to use for their weekly.biweekly/monthly draws but its showing the most recent draw is for Aug 30/2004.....which was 3 months ago D'oh!

all in all, neteller is fine if u stay away from Insta-cash....thats how they get ya!
  • great info guys :)
