Vegas May 18 - May 21

Decided on a somewhat last minute trip with the fiance. Used my points off my credit card for pretty much a free flight (paid $20).

The Hilton also gave me a wicked deal. $169 for 3 nights and 6 buffets! Probably won't be eating there the whole time, but if I'm broke, at least I know I got food!

Probably going to take a class with the Dice Coach for fun. lol (Dice Setting & Rhythm Rolling for the Winning Craps player.). Not sure how much poker I'll be playing, but I want to give one of the Caesar tourney's a shot.

  • Hahaha they have a dice coach? what does he teach you?
  • As far as I know...

There is no evidence that precision throwing works.

If it did have a small effect, why don't they bet the don't where there is less of a house advantage to overcome - 1.36 vs 1.41

Your best "bet" is to bet the don't pass/ don't come with full odds.

Your second best bet is the pass/come with full odds.

Avoid anything in the centre prop bets.

Edit: Just read some articles on that site above... the authors are clueless or frauds.

    Don't place 4,5,9,10.
  • Yeah, no real evidence if dice setting works or not. Best thing I could find was this off of Wizard of Odds (Dice Setting by The Wizard of Odds)

I would assume people wouldn't bet the don't because if you're aiming for the 7, you'd only make so much before you hit the 7, where as if you're betting the pass you have the chance to make much more.

I'm still going to take the class for fun, see how it goes. lol

Post a trip report and tell us how the class went!
  • Damn, that dice coach is pricey. I hope its worth it!
  • So I didn't play any poker at all on the trip and actually minimal craps playing.

I tried the $20 front desk tip trick and got upgraded to the 28th floor...awesome view and a much bigger room than the standard rooms. Everything on the entire floor and inside the room was nicely upgraded compared to the room I stayed in last year. Bad thing though we were beside the elevator so it was a bit noisy...other than that, no complaints.

I'm actually really impressed with the Dice Coach. He was very accomodating and very knowledgeable about the game. He corrected my toss and showed me proper technique. And I had the chance to practice on his full sized craps table. I just need more practice, but I'm a firm believer in dice influencing now. I only had two sessions of about an hour each, one at the Hilton and one at Bellagio after taking the class. The Hilton one went horrible and I should've listend to the Dice Coach as he told me not to play there becuase the tables are too bouncy. The Bellagio went much better and is one of the casinos the Dice Coach suggests to play at. I saw results of how the I can influence the dice, but unfortunately I didn't walk away with a profit after a few bad bounces. Fallsview will be my new playing ground.

I Also had a chance to hitup Pure nightclub inside Ceasars...this place was absolutely insane. It tops all clubs in Toronto and it was a Tuesday night!!

I also went to the Eiffel tower restaurant inside Paris as well. Damn expensive, but it was a really good meal. The view of the Bellagio fountains while eating is pretty cool as well.

Other than that, did some shopping at the outlets and relaxed. Good trip overall.
  • Nice... I've tried the $20 trick once at Ballys and failed miserably. Gonna have to give it another try this time, but MGM has like 50/50 success rate. Cool report about the dice coach.

Success at Venetian and Harrah's for me. Failure at MGM Grand.

What dice sets did the dice coach tell you to use for 7's/non 7's? (I use 24/24 for non-7's and 15/62 for 7's)
    What grip does he suggest?

1:06 in the interview...obviously can't rub the dice with both hands. lol

I wonder why they didn't interview anyone else at the table. 4 hour roll? The casino must've went broke.

There are so many sets you can do, but I'm practicing with 3/4 (facing up) 5/2 (facing toward) for the come out, and 3/1, 2/2 for points four, ten, five and nine and 1/3, 5/3 for sixes and eights. If on axis, there's only two ways to make seven's for these sets. I also tend to double pitch one die and these are good for it.

The grip I'm using now is thumb and middle finger pinching the dice from either side in the centre and the index and ring finger on the same side as my middle finger holding the dice. I haven't tried any other grips yet, so going to practice with this first.

Can't wait to see if this actually works at Fallsview next time I go. hahaha
  • This is a level right? You don't really believe it can make a difference..... :)

For a standard dice roll, it can.

I used to cheat in Monopoly all the time rolling 12's by placing 1's up, same for 2/5, and 3/4. (not a level)

Not sure I buy the fact that you can effect a pitch all the way down a table though.
  • How do you control it bouncing off of that uneven back wall:

  • You should roll to just kiss the bottom of the back wall, not bounce off the diamonds.

I believe it can...but I'll let you know after my next trip to Fallsview. lol

Actually, I think the idea is to hit off the back wall, under the cones....something about the cones are 45 degrees in angle, and since the dice's edge are 90 degrees, once they hit the cones, they should drop back down to the table. A few throws I had on his craps table had that result, one bounce on the table, off the cones, and right back down to the table, with no more bounces...pretty neat.
