09 WSOP format

Ok, i like the idea of 30k in chips to start. Allows for some better strategy i think in the early stages. But what is with stopping once it gets to the final 9 for what, 3 months before continuing play???? You battle your way for 2 weeks of poker, stress, you name it. you get your game going, the cards are running well for you, your in "the zone". Then you have to stop, leave Vegas, and have to come back in 3 months to play the final table. try to get back in "the zone". i don't know about you, but i think that aspect of the format sucks!!! Not to mention, if ya make final table, your pretty much getting what, 800k minimum (according to last years stats) and now you have to wait another 3 months to get your hands on it. WOW, talk about a tease. LOL

    Was like this last year.

    You are paid minimum 9th place cash at the time of stoppage, and depending on where you finish in November, you get extra. And also all the publicity from the 3 months wait seems to have been beneficial to those who made the FT last year.

    They actually do give everyone the minimum payout once they make the final table. + interest on the rest of the prize pool eventually... but other than that, lame yes.

    Ahhhh, ok. Thanks for clearing that up. hmmmm, i wonder if the hotel will comp the final table players a nice cushy suite for the finals. Would be nice huh.

    I am pretty sure all the transportation/suites are already taken care by whichever poker room picks them up in sponsorship.

    I watched one ESPN broadcast where they said the main event winner gets the 10,000sq foot super suite or something like that in the rio and its basically pimp'd to the max. But then after you win X million do you really care how much a night at the best suite in the Rio is going to cost you.

    thats' why they all show up in customized jackets with a huge entourage.
