im thinking of heading down to las vegas this summer cus ill be turning 21 , so i was wondering if anyone knows any cheap hotels that are good and any tournys that will be running that have a good structure like the world series of poker but not as much money i thought there was somewhere that runs the mini world serie sof poker 10% of every buy in of the real tourny ? does anyone know about this.

Poker room rates are not usually even as good as you can get on any travel site, etc... Playing poker does not get you good rates, only table games, and then you have play a lot.... Just go to each of the casino websiteS and keep checking there... Depends how cheap you want to stay... Rooms at less than stellar locations can be had Sun-Thu for as little as $20. a night if you look. However places like IP or Excalibur, which are decent, usually go for $40-50.

Bellagio certainly does, and you can use I4 for pretty well all vegas hotels...
If you have to ask the price for Bellagio, you can't afford it... And by the way 800 calls are free using that phone thingy....

Since compuease is busy getting me coffee and picking up my dry cleaning, I'll answer this question. A forumer and I stayed at Binion's in December as posted in our trip reports. Binion's is downtown, away from the main Strip, but would be fine if you are going to play in its mini-WSOP tournaments, where you are least likely to be hit with the 30% withholding tax if you cash. Looking at compuease's I4 link, Bellagio is U$140 more expensive per day than Binion's.

If you read compuease's first link, it looks like there are 8 forumers so far who will be in Las Vegas at the same time as you in early July. Several are staying at the Rio, site of the WSOP. Imperial Palace is the best value in terms of price and location, but I will be staying in Monte Carlo resort this time.

Other things to consider.
Binnions is MILES away from the "centre" strip. Although it's right next to Golden Nugget, which is pretty nice. Here use Google Maps and search for Las Vegas. It'll give you an idea of where the hotels are in relation to one another. I found this very helpful, as I had never been there before.

When we went in November, most of us stayed at Harrahs. It was a pretty standard hotel, dead centre of the Strip. Easy walking distance to Bellagio, MGM and Venetian.

Also if you're going in the summmer, it's going to be HOT. No really, really HOT. Like +35 EVERY DAY! Keep a water bottle handy.

My sister owns a travel agency and i had her start looking up places to stay and rates. One thing is certain, the closer you get to the dates of the WSOP ME, the higher their "regular" room rate goes. Supply and demand for prime time applies i guess. Once she gets me all the rates for all the hotels, i will post them for anyone who wants to know.
