Vegas This Summer

Planning on heading to Vegas July 8th-12th (hoping to hit UFC 100). Any recommendations on where to look for cheap flights or when to book?
Thanks in advance.

  • Sunwing was running really cheap flights for a while. Sign up for travelzoo and check a around a month before. Also, air canada sometimes too.
  • I got 410 return for 4 days a few weeks ago through WJ.
  • Plan to be there from end of June/early July until after UFC100
  • Hey Wes,
Be prepared to pay higher room rates in all the surrounding hotels on the strip. UFC is a HUGE draw there. Personally, i would book the hotel now...there are some very good deals out there, and if they go any lower, you can always change your reservations right up to before you leave. Most hotels have a 48 to 72 hour cancellation policy with no penalty.
We ALWAYS book hotel and airfare seperately. These "great" package deals thru expedia and the like, usually charge up to $80 for airport transfers....you can take a cab there and back for $20. 9 times out of 10 Travelocity has had better airfares than going directly thru Westjet or Air Canada sites for us, but it's still prudent to look at all sites. Most hotels have guaranteed lowest rates on their home sites, so I would stick to those. I don't know if this is your first time to Vegas or not, but if you're interested, PM your email to me, and I can send you a word doc with our "General Vegas Tips"
I've been there 34 times (about to be 35 as of April 16) and have been every year since 1988! The tips include everything from what to tip, where to eat, how to upgrade your room, where to gamble, etc.
I finally put these all to paper because of constantly being asked by friends all the time. Yours for the asking.
