Interesting, horrible, and maybe a little funny.
So, my girlfriend is a member of this arts/crafts forum (hey, whatever. She enjoys it.) Lots of huggy, squeezy posts about knitting, sewing, art kind of stuff. More smiley faces than you can possibly imagine. I surf here (and post every once in a while), she surfs there. Keeps us both sane. Or not.
Recently, their forum has been hijacked by someone/people acting as trolls. They're posting scat pictures, beastiallity, etc. Basically the absolute worst dredge of internet porn you can imagine. They've hacked accounts and are posting stuff under regulars posters names. They've posted private messages where people were gossipping about each other. They've taken avatars where regular users have used actual face pictures of themselves and added fellatio cock shots, etc.
The amount of time being spent appears impressive/depressing. Loads of photoshop being done, going back through years of posts to find specific comments, etc. These guys are seriously getting the best bang for their buck you can imagine.
The admin/mods of the forum appear pretty much nonexistent and nothing's being done about it. Really unfortunate as obviously people who previously ejoyed using the forum are fleeing the site in droves.
Imagine a craft fair in a gymnasium crowded with the stereotypes you can guess would surf this site. Now insert a handfull of people walking in to the center of the room and doing performance art including shitting in each others mouths, etc. The doors are pretty much being blown off as people panic/scream/faint/RUN!
Terrible situation, but my girlfriend and I have been screaming with laughter about it after the initial shock wore off. We're terrible people.
