Sorting table algorithm?
Do most online or for that matter b&m casinos use an algorithm for placing/moving people in a MTT?
Was just in a $1 MTT and when it came down to the final 18, two tables of 9, the table I sat at had 8 of the top 9 chip leaders (with me being in 9th), and the other table had 5 people in which didnt even have enough to last 2 orbits (the one normal guy on that table was in 5th chip position). Dunno if it was just the luck of the draw or something, but it was really unbalanced.
Finished 7th, so cant complain too much, was just really weird.

I will say, the movement on PartyPoker often seems unfair to me, and in a big contrast, the movement of tables on PokerRoom has never bothered me.
It is a massivley challenging problem - what if you just posted a BB, is it fair to move to a table in a seat where your next on the BB?
should tables be arranged so that players have a roughly equal chip count?
so that each table, overall, has a roughyl equal number of chips?
it IS clear, above all else, they try to eliminate and reduce the number of tables whenever possible - but the symantics of who goes where isn't clear to me.
