CURRENCY EXCHANGE, anyone have tricks for getting the best rate.

I understand that this might be a pointless thread, given that the value of the dollar is set by a team of monkeys in an underground bunker or whatever.

I am off to Vegas for five nights this Sunday and am looking to maximize my roll. Has anyone seen any casino's offering incentives to Canadian travelers by offering a more generous rate of exchange?

I don't think I have ever seen it to your advantage to take Can $$ and exchange later in Vegas. The spread will definitely be larger than you would get at a Canadian bank here before you go. I do remember the days when a lot of Florida businesses were offering Canadians services and goods at even exchange. I've never seen or heard of a casino doing that or in fact providing any deal at all on currency.

Consistently for small amounts I've found the best rate to be ING. I exchange the money and ship it to my BMO US$ account and withdraw it.

I miss when ING had bank machines in Canadian Tire stores and you could withdraw US cash direct. Those were the days.
