Do they have to be Dal Negros? I know where you can find Modianos in the GTA and, imo, they are a better card than the Torcellos.
If Dal Negros are all you will buy, then try Caragails (CaraGails). If you want to give the Mods a try, look up www.straighpokersupplies.com. They also sell Copags and USPC Kems. Good luck.
Dal Negro Torcellos are constantly referenced for their "paper-like" feel. Usually people use this to mean they are stiffer, or simply a thicker sheet than, say a Copag, Kem, or Piatnik. I am an unabashed fan of Modiano cards. I have more set-ups of Modiano's than any other type. I find them to have a textured (rather than slick) feel to the card, and that they are as thick and, in some models, thicker than Dal Negros.
Another option would be something like the Modiano Cristallo, which is supposedly an upgraded PVC Acetate. I say supposedly, because I have no direct experience with them.
I haven't been able to find any Torcello's in Canada or North America for a while. Do you know where to get any Milo? Caragails only has Freedoms and Royals, I really like the 4 pip Torcello's though.
The only other option off the top of my pointy head would be Trident. Not sure if they have them, though . . . Been a while since I bought new cards. Looking to improve the quality of my chips, right now. moose has made me jealous. Need to improve the quality of my bank account first, though . . .
No, Trident doesn't have them either. I E mailed Dal Negro in Italy and got a broken english response telling me to contact some wholesaler in the states, but he never replied.
I'll have to keep looking I guess.
I think I'm going to grab some 4 pip Modianos I recently found.
If I do come across the Torcellos anywhere, I'll post about it.
Where are you located? If my Torcellos are 4pip, I may be willing to trade them. I will check when I get home tonight, and shoot you a PM. It'll give me an excuse to get the Modiano Acetates I want. "cheers:
I still have Torcello's, I'm just keeping an eye out for replacements for when they do get retired. Although if these Modiano's are as good or better, it probably won't be an issue. Thanks for the offer though.
Actually still waiting to hear, I offered him $22 for 2 set ups. What would you think is reasonable? Are they cheaper at the T.O. location you mentioned? Actually, what and where is that location for next time I'm there?
$22.00 USD for 4 decks of Modianos is very reasonable, so long as you do not get dinged to bad with shipping ($&%# UPS). The T.O. location I was referring to is straightpokersupplies.com. Charlie is located mid-town near the DVP (iirc). Based on a phone call earlier this week, I believe he is moving locations. I am going Friday (God Bless my new 4 day weeks), so I can shoot you a PM with details. He does free shipping on orders over $65.00, and his prices are in Canadian funds. Check out his site. It's pretty good.

I have had USPC KEMs and Copegs but they feel too thin.
If that makes sense. I am looking for a card that has the feel of the older KEMs.
I will look into those links though.
thanks

An excellent source for reviews is Home Poker Tourney - How to Run a No-limit Texas Hold'em Poker Tournament
Good luck.
