Hi, my name is Richard and I'm fairly new to both the site and to online poker for cash. I had played randomly on facebook and with friends a few times and decided to make a 100$ deposit on a poker site.
That's where things got a bit strange. I started off by activating the wrong bonus which after two month of semi-shakey playing brought me a ticket to a qualifier for the european poker tour tournament in san Remo Italy. Somehow I managed to play decent poker for a few hours and I took down the 9500$ prize package.
Now I need to figure out what to do next, I don't know if I could or would want to sell the ticket so I'm thinking of ways to prepare. So I'll be around the forums a bit hopefully, trying to pick up what I can in a month.
Any tips on where to start would be appriciated, and despite my lack of experience I'm really not terrible at the game, I've finished second in a few 20$ mtt's and such, not without luck obviously, but still.
So that's me and poker, I'm looking forward to talking to some of you

Welcome to the site. There is tons of info on here if you search for specific things. You'll probably want to pick up a couple of books on live poker too. That should be a lot of fun going to Italy. Come play some of our forum games too and see how you do. Its typically a lot better game than your standard poker tournament online. Also, if you have a specific question, post it up and hopefully someone will answer

My desktop just so happens to be a girl and a cat getting along just fine.
And I'm sorry to disappoint but I'm not even Canadian but Swedish. It's silly I guess but I got home from school yesterday or wtv and I googled "ask a poker pro" and ended up here. I tried my first live game today btw, it was a 50$ beginners tournamnet and I ended up loosing by a bad beat, but I'll try as many of them as I can before Italy, and I'm going to order a book as well.
I'll go look around a bit now for those site events you mentioned

And Sexvilla was an awesome addition to my desktop pic..but in playing it this afternoon it turned out to be the lamest 3d sex game I've ever seen. Although really it is only referenced against Leisure Suit Larry.
I clicked on it now to see if I left money there..nothings happened for over two mins.

As for selling, I just don't know, would you really sell it if you were in my shoes?
I actually tried to sell the qualifier ticket as I didn't even want to activate that bonus in the first place, I just wanted the 300 dollars, then things got blown a bit out of proportions.
