Edmonton March 21/22

Thinking about coming over to play in the Big Slick Poker Tour finals, but am wondering about cash tables at the casinos? Which casinos offer the "best" 1/2 nlhe tables...I guess by "best" I mean, wait times for seating, service in the room, dealers..and of course...profitable..lol

Comments

  • 1-2 Is best at Argyl or Yellerhead
  • Do those tables run 24/7? or close at 2am?
  • 24 hrs.....there will always be a game at those two.
  • The most comfortable room by far is Yellowhead. The tables are huge, lots of leg room, tons of space in between tables...lots of places to sit and watch TV while you wait for the list to go. Tons of 1/2 games on weekends, always a couple during weekdays.

If your a smoker, go to the River Cree resort as they have a sealed off glass smoking area inside the poker room. The room itself is very nice, but tables are packed tight and tables are fairly small. Food sucks.
  • Yellowhead appears to be across town from where I will be...but..that is likely where I will end up.

We are over at the Strathcona Legion...9020 51 Avenue NW...Is there something good closer?

Yellowhead isnt anywhere near 9020 51 ave. Its clear on the other side of the city actually.
The closest is Yellowheads sister casino Casino Edmonton. From the legion, take 91st NORTH, turn right on 63ave and that turns into Argyll road. Thatll take you straight to casino edmonton...cant miss it, theres a huge ferris wheel in front of it.

Nice room, kinda old, cramped, good games...alot of DC though.

    $30 cab MAYBE, prob $28.

    Go to Yellowhead.

    Or go to Argyll.
  • Argyll (Casino Edmonton) is definately you're closest casino. They will have lot's of games, and good action. The room itself is a little dingy......reminds me of cash casino in Calgary if you've been there.

Either one you will find good action.
  • Argyll is dingy but who cares.
    The action is great.

Also, the black jack is RIGGED so stay away. :D
  • Josh, when are we going to play some poker? You ever down in Calgary?
  • Bah...plan change. Gotta head to Vancouver instead of Edmonton. How is it that real life takes precedence over poker?

I'm not in Calgary much anymore.
I am playing a CSOP thing at Baccarat tonight here in Edmonton. It's like $245, 77 players of something. 10,000 in chips, 20 min levels. They do these bi-monthly I think, this is my first one, if it is good you should come try one up here. After the tournament apparently the action is wicked in the cash games. Which it never is at Baccarat.

Where are you currently playing in Calgary?
