I am throwing the gauntlet!

Next week, both all_aces and myself will be playing in Regina at the Harvest Poker Classic (Omaha-8, limit hold'em, no-limit hold'em). I am proposing a "two out of three" last longer bet. I will let all-aces choose the amount. If he's game.

    ROFLMAO. This may be the dumbest bet I've ever taken, but hell, I'll take it... :D I'm not sure what '2 out of 3' means... If it has something to do with playing 3 events, I hate to disappoint, but I'm only playing in two, the limit and NL hold'em events.

    I'm game, though. As soon as we figure out the terms of the wager, I'll set the amount. Versus Dave Sharf, eh? I'm thinking somewhere in the $5 to $10 range... ;)

    Well it sounds like all_aces pulled out from the Omaha-8 event meaning he will have to take Dave in both limit and no limit events to win the pokerfurom player award. This will be a very difficult comeback for him.

    That being said, I will place some bets on Dave =)

    I'd be in for both. Whoever lasts longest on Friday gets $20 from each of the other pokerforum players.

    As for the side action with Dave, we'll add up our finishes for Friday and Saturday's events. Whoever has the lowest number wins. I'm still thinking about the amount... ;)

    Good way to sum it up. Two game total LOWEST score wins the bet. I suggest $100 but will book anything up to $1000.

    It's a bet. $200 last longer. If Tournament Writer Jim Worth is there shall we let him in? Then it will be a "CPP Writers Last Longer." Also Charles Mousseau I suppose and any other CPP writers that show up?

    I will also take all_aces at 1:1.25 if anyone wants to book that action.

    Well Dave, when I signed on for this I was thinking you vs. me. So, assuming you have an edge, which you do, that gives me maybe a 40% chance of winning $200. I know it's a -EV move, but the 10% (or so) I'm giving up is more than worth the price of my dignity, by accepting this bet in the first place.

    Now all of a sudden, I'm hearing that 40% (50% minus dignity tax) is turning into considerably less than that, because you're bringing all of these specialists on board.

    While the prospect of a bigger prize pool among us is appealing, I'll have to request a day of thought towards determining exacty how much my dignity is worth to me.

    I'll take dave 1v1 in the omaha 8 if its still open. Be warned how ever. My first live tournament EVER was the omaha 8 in regina last year i had never heard of omaha until that day and i split in the finals. THATS RIGHT I'M......THE NUT LUCKY :D.....and a little addicted to side betting, but thats a story for another time.

    Man, I have to start keeping notes on all my last longer bets!

    The last few CPT events have featured a big multi-way $500 last longer bet that has been huge. I might have to pass on that one.
