    Event #14 Day Three Recap
175 players started Event #14's third day of action Wednesday morning, but many of them would miss the magical payout number of 100 players as the day progressed. Once the bubble burst at 3:31 PM, the rest of the field moved rapidly to try to secure one of today's final 27 spots.

A number of top players hit the rail along the way including E Tay, Captain Tom Franklin, Gordon "Gordonk" Eng, Tony "Bagels," Farhad "The Knight Rider" Sinaei, Al Riccobono, Matt Brady and Event #1 winner Jason Young. Fortunately, the noted players still have some firepower left as Bill "The Stunning One" Edler ($3,894,000) and Todd Terry ($2,965,000) managed to survive and put themselves in position to take down the tournament.

Leading the way going into the final day of play is Toronto's Carl Pion, who saw his stack swell to $4,720,000 by the end of Day Three. A one-man wrecking crew, Pion repeatedly decimated players at his table with solid play and several strong bluffs that fooled some of the more experienced tournament players.

Make sure to tune in for today's action. We will once again be back in the Poker Room and we will play down to a winner. Play begins at 11:00 AM.

Editor's Note: One last thing. We on the tournament reporting staff would like to say thank you to the players, the people watching at home, and the Borgata staff for all of their kind words and support. It means a lot to know that you enjoy what we do and honestly, we wouldn't be here is it wasn't for you (the players). Congratulations on another spectacular series and we look forward to seeing you in the future. Now sit back, relax and enjoy watching today's exciting action.

  • Thanks for the update.

I still do not know why this was a WPT Event and then the WPT pulled out?
  • The WPT pulled this off its calendar like 3 months ago +...

    Yes.
  • Congrats to Carl for winning U$83,902 (minus 30% withholding).
  • Awesome score for Carl. Have had an opportunity to play with him in many tournies here in the GTA and at Seneca, along with a few NAPC satellites. Definitely a decent tourney player.

Fun to watch him blow up though..... :) Always entertaining....

    GOOD FOR HIM!!!!
