Anyone else playing in the orangeville poker tour tournament on sunday?

I have not played before but they seem like a well organized group...

  • While I now prefer to play the casino tournaments (Brantford or GBH), the Orangeville league is probably the best club tournament available. It simulates playing in a WSOP $1500 event, so it's one reason that SteveKerr and other Orangeville players have cashed at the WSOP.
  • There is actually 2 Leagues in Orangeville that is based on a $1500 WSOP event.

The one I run every other Saturday Orangeville Poker Tour (Orangeville, ON) - Meetup.com
    and
The Sunday League Orangeville Poker League (Orangeville, ON) - Meetup.com

I was planning to try the Sunday tournaments, but last month the weather kept me away, and this month I have Raptors tickets for that day. I hope to be there in February. Compuease has had very good things to say about the tournament.
  • Actually I would rate it above any of the Casino tournaments, certainly here in Ontario. No rake, great structure, nice tables/chips, etc... Max 100 players, seems to get 70+ pretty regularily... For playability I would make rate it similar to the Venetian 12 noon daily....
I'm going this Sunday as well as probably a few other Miltonians..
  • do i have to join meetup? or can i opt in

You don't have to but need someone to register you, but I can if you want and know you are going.. Currently 50 signed up for this Sunday which is higher than usual..... Gonna guess for 80 this week...
  • Thanks,

How would I get an address?
  • See you there. Mario and I are in.

  • Another opt coming up on feb 8. Last one had 80 + players...

There is a $5 option for extra chips to start the game.

Here's the whole scoop, 30 min blinds, 4000 chips for $50. all to the prize pool, OPTIONAL $5. for 1000 additional chips (pays for hall), OPTIONAL $10, bounty chip. You get $10. for any other bounty you collect. You can only lose your own bounty, none of the ones you win.
Pretty well everyone takes the additional 1000 chips, approx 80% take the bounty.
Last tournament had 82 entries which is pretty typical. Next two tournaments are Feb 8th and 22nd at 11:30AM
I believe the last one paid $1200. for 1st, down to 8 places
