Do you call off most of your stack?
This was a hand that a friend played and we disagree with how it should be played.
About midway in a $75 MTT of FTP. Still a ways from the money. He had just lost about 1/2 his stack the prior hand when AK < AQ. Only played 1 orbit at the table so no real read here.
Blinds 75/150
Hero: ~3800
Villain: ~1800
Hero is dealt KQo in the cut-off
Folded to him and he makes it 450
Villain shoves over top.
Folded back to you.
Hero?
What's your play here and why?

Min bet is 600, not 450, if you mean 450 more (i.e. 750), then you're calling 1050 into a pot of 2500ish..
I call then
Also, if he's going to bet, bet well... at least 900 there... and then it's still a call to a push

It was 75/150...oops

- You are 2-1 against a range of 88+ AJ+ and the pot is only laying 1.8-1
- If you fold you have 22BB left and that is a very workable stack. It is big enough to still re-steal with and gives you a lot more options than playing on a 13BB stack if you lose. The 13BB puts you on the short stack in shove or fold mode.
- If he is really capable of making a move here you could call but I would estimate that you would need to figure he is on a pure re-steal at least 25% of the time.
What he said. Unless you have specific notes against this villain and that his shove range is wider, this is a fold.
standard fold as played
In this case it wasn't me.
guess i should stick to razzing compeause:D
But I think it should be noted that the villain might be on tilt and might have air so I don't hate a call either.
(from what i hear from some girl name Kristy):)
So what happened?
My guess, he called, was up against a something like a pocket pair and went out.
