Making a solid read..

This player lost half his stack the previous hand. His insta-push on the flop felt very weak. I was lucky he didn't hit his draw, but I knew I was ahead.....

  • It's a coinflip, yay.
  • I was refering to the betting pattern, and to the fact that I made a 'solid read' on the river.

How exactly does one make a good read on the river when all of the chips were in as a coin flip on the flop?

Not as bad as the guy who called my all in shove preflop with 86o since he knew I was bluffing, but still, maybe there is something I am not getting here :)

You think he is shoving his 9h2h hand on a AQ3 rainbow flop as well or something? If so, why not just shove on him preflop when likely ahead to avoid any hassles of making a bad move/losing if the flop is 9 6 2 or some thing
  • Sick read on the river.
  • I don't care what kinda read you have on this guy. Calling this huge of an overbet with two overcards is like poker suicide.

Good read on the river though.
  • Easy fold.....best case scenario is a coin flip......why risk your tourney life?
