Brag: Booked a win at Great Blue Heron

I havent played limit poker in a while at the casino so I decided to go yesterday for a little action. I ended picking up $400 in 4 hrs playing 5/10. $100 an hr isnt bad at those limits. There were alot of weekend players so they were calling down with 1 pr no kicker. I wish I didnt have plans last night or I would have stayed much longer. I think I will have to make trips up more often.

  • Congrats. Did GBH tried to run any satellite for its tournament next month? An acquaintance told me that he won a home game satellite for the $550 tournament, and there will be a rake-free satellite this Sunday if there's enough interest.

  • I didnt see anything posted regarding sats to their $550 tourney. I also can see them running today being Sunday. It was way too busy Saturday with players waiting over 2.5 hrs to get on a table and the lists waiting forever.
  • Hey BlondeFish, I stopped by the casino again and they said that they will not hold sats into any of their $500 freezeout tourneys. This year $500 is the min BI. They are also holding no rebuy tourneys there. They may run sats for they year end large tourney. I hope this helps you out.
  • For sats for their $500 tourney, just play the 100 sit & Go on Mondays and Tuesdays. First gets 500. second gets 300, third gets 200. Pretty straight forward. All cash, no tax!
  • Wow , that's amazing, the casino is running rake free satellites?

  • Rake-free satellites are much better, but there is enough "dead money" (no pun intended) that would rather gamboool in raked casino turbos that it's slightly +EV for satellite sharks who aren't too far from the casino.

  • The sng tourneys are $100 + 10, so you are paying a $10 rake. They will start the tourneys with anywhere from 9 - 11 players. They last roughly 2.5 - 3 hrd to play.
  • That doesn't make sense. You only get 1,500 chips and you are already short-stacked by the third level. Even the $1,240 WPT satellite sometimes didn't take much more than 3 hours.
