Poker Magazine : Bluff(ed)?
While I was picking up last months issue of CPT at my local Chapters, right beside it was a newish looking magizine called "BLUFF" ( I think, something like that).
I didnt have enough time to flip through it and check it out, but just wondered if anyone had read it, and what they thought if it.
Also on the topic of magazines, I am deciding whether or not to subscribe to Card Player, it looks good, but also wanted to see what people thought.
Cheers,
Irah

Well I'm looking at my copy of Bluff as I write.
Bluff Magazine just launched with its September issue and will come out once every two months until May 2005 when it will come out monthly. You can go to their site at www.bluffmagazine.com to see one of the articles and the table of contents from the issue.
One of the articles that will appear in every issue is called "pro-spective" where a pro takes you blow by blow through a major tournament they played. September featured Erik Lindgren writing about his experience at The Mirage Showdown. The November issue will feature Kenna James playing the Doyle Brunson North America Championship at the Bellagio. Kenna had to battle one of the toughest fields I've seen to money in 9th - should make for an interesting read.
Other articles in the Sept issue include:
Annie Duke talks about why she thinks some men have a tough time playing women
Josh Arieh talks about the robbery at the Aviation Club
Interviews with James Woods and Chris Ferguson
Andy Bloch disects a nlhe hand using probabilities
Howard Lederer provides clues about how to read a player
Features about online and B&M card rooms
Oh, and most importantly (just kidding) me gossiping from the rail. In September I dis'ed ESPN's continued fascination with Dutch Boyd even though he allegedly bilked players out of their player accounts on his now defunct online site pokerspot. I divulged some of what Clonie Gowen and I talked about locked in the bathroom - of course I couldn't tell all - that would break the sanctity of the ladies rooms confessional. I let Chris Moneymaker comment about the continuing online rumors that he is broke. And I featured a blurb on BARGE, the annual drunken poker conference initiated by IRC/rgp players.
I think it would be fair to describe Bluff as a cross between Card Player and People Magazine. While it clearly offers articles that will appeal only to players, written by some of the best players and writers in the business, it also devotes space covering the more notable people, pros and celebs, that play poker.
Good luck out there,
Amy
Thanks alot Amy, I am off to pick up my first copy.
