i'm thinking i made two mistake
1. i should have check and give up the turn
2. i didn't check, i should have shovel the turn.
villian is a donk, but my read is my hand is good on the flop and turn.
river is no brian, i didn't bet he will...........
what would you do?

Comments

  • How is your hand possibly good on the turn? What did you think he had?
  • Guy calls $9 post flop.......check fold after that. To be honest I might have check folded the flop.....what is he calling preflop with a $9 bet? What are the hands that you're beating? I can't really think of one. Any pair he's not folding on the river with that pot. Spade draw got there/any pair wins. But I am results oriented so what did he have?
  • smells like an overpair. QQ-AA. you should of slowed down on the turn. you fired a barrel on the flop, you are reppin a big hand and hes still showing a lot of interest. slowing down is always good
  • i question my play as well
i made a read, i though my hand is good at the turn.
it's blind battle, villian is laggy donky, 3bet could be just F you raise my blind again.
calling 4 bet...you know laggy donky never fold preflop when they already put money in.
    that was my read preflop.
    post flop.
    he just call.....
    i figure
Small PP, has to push there.
big PP has to push there as well.
    flushdraw, monkey push standard.
even with sets, it's pretty drawy board, may want to push there too....
my conclusion: he put me on AK and float me with air. IS THIS A MISTAKE?
when he call that turn bet...., he may have a Q
river: just me donky.....if i can get him to fold 10% of time, i may show profit....lol IS THIS A MISTAKE?

    My read is dead on
    he has 97o
it's just one of those tilt training session.
i actually almost went on monkey tilting, but i control it.....

It might not be a mistake if it were true, but NOBODY is folding that river for 12 bucks when they just called 18 on the turn. Even IF someone was floating you with 'AIR' on the flop the board connects pretty well with most air hands byt the river.
Just about every draw got there except the KJ/AJ straights.

If you really want to get to the river with AK, just go all in preflop, playing this way is just giving your money away, even against donkeys.
  • your 4bet preflop should be more like $12. Also raise 4x preflop as your opening raise.
  • i made a read, i though my hand is good at the turn.

Exactly what range of hands are you ahead of here that 3 bets PF, calls a 4 bet, and calls your flop bet.

    AJ? KJ?

Just interested in your thought process. You are ahead of app. 2% of all hands that play this way in this spot.
  • It is blind vs. blind. BB could have a lot of holdings here.

Also. Your bet sizing is pretty gross Chuckie.

There is nothing wrong with opening for 3 or 3.5 X BB from button or CO but you have to go to 4 X BB when you open from SB. Your 3 bet needs more teeth as well. You just kind of dribbled your whole stack into the middle on this hand.

Why would you bet $18 on the turn leaving less than $12 in your stack?

    i agree
i am doing kickback at AB
kind of unfamiliar with their software
as for the turn....i have no idea why i didn't shovel there....stupid
