  • I told The_Game what I posted before, but for anybody else wondering, see and bookmark the OLG poker site. This Thursday's $300 freezeout is even better than the $100 weekly tournaments, because you get twice as many chips with the same blind structure and the rake is halved to 8.3%. As always, you can only buy in person, so phone Casino Brantford by Wednesday before wasting your time driving to the always sold out events.

Avoid the horrible $200 (+100+200) monthly rebuy tournament. The rebuy and blind structures were badly designed to be player-unfriendly and it is like gamboooling $500 away on a turbo donkament. :(

    - Every Thursday starting at 10 AM.
    - $85 + $15, 15% rake.
    - Prize pool: $4,250.
    - Only 2500 starting chips and 20-minute blinds.
    - Patience Factor = 5.7, Skill Level = 3
    - Sold out at 50 players last Thursday and for tomorrow. :'( Brantford should accept credit card payment by phone just like Point Edward and Great Blue Heron Casinos. It does not make sense for me to drive all the way to Brantford twice to pre-register before the sell-out.

    "Monthly" $300 Freezeout:
    - Thursday, September 25. A couple of forumers and I will be busy at Point Edward Casino next week though.
    - $275 + $25, 8% rake.
    - Prize pool: up to $13,750.
    - 5000 starting chips and 20-minute blinds.
    - Identical Patience Factor and Skill Level as the 2500-chip $100 tournament above! By skipping the 25/25, 300/600, 500/1000 and other blind levels, players are being decieved into thinking that they are getting more play with twice as many chips, but all players are getting is three times the cost! :rage: This reminds me of the $460 WPT satellites which does not have enough chips, blind length and playing time compared to the $170 satellites.

    Conclusion:
    - Only if I happen to be driving near Brantford will I bother to pay for pre-registration for one of these tournaments just to be the forum guinea pig.

I don't understand. You said the $300 tourney was worse. Now you say it's better? Did they change the blind structure?
