Now will the wife go for it? ... Anyone else interested?
It's already been one whole week since my trip to Vegas so I asked if I could go back to play the satellites at WPT Bellagio, but for some strange reason, she said NO! ???
That would allow me to play the Binions $50K freeroll on the 8th
Note that the locals will have up to 6,000 starting chips after the $10 staff bonus. When I went to Binion's looking for the Wall of Champions (all torn down ) and played the cash game, there were several rocks grinding it out to to get the maximum 1,500 bonus chips for additional play.
After you win the $15K first prize, you can parlay it at the WPT Seniors Event. Good luck!

Well after you've been married as long as I have it's, "When are you going again?"

Thanks Buddy, appreciate it.... WPT seniors event, lol, when's that? I think I might be able to sneak up on them cuz they will assume I play just like them.....

By the way, the Wall of champions is back up, I guess you didn't go there this past trip huh? See here for the latest review including pics.... It was great to see when I was there last week. Plan on taking a closer look this time..
The WPT Seniors Event is on December 9 at noon, the day after you win at Binion's. Several of the Bellagio one-day events are for U$3K-$5K, but surprisingly this THREE-day event is "only" U$2,620. Last year, a senior from Toronto made it to the final table.
Just like the senior winner at WPT Fallsview, the 50+-year old champion of this event receives a U$25,500 entry (non-negotiable, non-refundable & non-transferable in this case) into the WPT World Championships. If I ever make it to 50 years old, I want to play this event with the Milton Rocks, along with the WSOP U$1,000 Seniors World Championship.

As I posted before, I played there this month and the walls that were by the tournament area during the WSOP are gone. The female poker manager sounded sad herself when she confirmed that Binion's had taken down the walls with the photos of the Annual Poker Classic champions along with the autographed blue final table. Only the photos of old WSOP champions were put outside the new poker room.

Hmm, really? Very tempting.... and I really don't have anything solid planned for the 9th to the 12th when I fly back on the red eye... Will definitely check it out.... Anyone want to buy pieces of this "old" guy.... If I could just pry myself out of cheap mode I'm sure I could make a good run at something like that...
I was referring to the WPT seniors event, however if you want to buy 50% of my entry into that you can have 50% of winnings...
Now who wants the other 50%?

I just had a look at this, it's actually $1500. + 90 for the seniors (50+) 3 day event.... Almost looks affordable... lol.. OK, I'm selling 80% of myself at even money, you buy 10% and get 10% of the winnings... lineup starts on the left.... You KNOW I'll go deep, can't imagine those old farts knowing how to deal with an aggressive Canuck who apprenticed with the best in the world, the KW crew.... and Captains the Royal Cup reigning champs.... The Rocks...
If you wanted to go to Vegas and make the trip +EV covering your flight/hotel/meals/etc by playing cash games. What would you play? What stakes? Where would you stay?
I usually play 2/5NL at Fallsview or 1/2NL at Casino Niagara.

Latest experience - MGM Grand 1/2NL cash game. 2/5NL at both Caesar's and Venetian was a pretty tough game, you are much better off sitting at a soft 1/2NL game.
As far as staying, finding the cheapest one possible as most places are walkable in the Vegas weather at this time.
It looks like Bellagio suddenly changed the $2,620 event to a $1590 event to try to get more senior citizens to play than last year's 189 players. The rake of 6% is even lower than the 9% for the WSOP $910+$90 Seniors Event (2,218 players). The disadvantage of any US tournament is the 30% withholding tax/rake if you don't have any gambling loss receipts in the year to offset it.

I agree that MGM is the place to play, lots of tourist types giving it a try, lots of drinking, high short term variance... Any solid player should make money there if you don't tilt and stick to a plan... and stay sober yourself...

That's so gross....almost cheaper than the gas to Detroit. Best of luck Jeff.
I assume we still have a 5% stake of your winnings
