Best Points Credit Card

Which credit card do you think offers the best return in the form of points? I prefer a rebate card where you normally get a 1% cash refund for your purchases but they all seem to have minimum expense levels before you get to the 1% rebate. I'm looking for the best card, with no concern for the interest rate charged on outstanding balances, as I plan to pay it off in full every month.

I think the President Choice Mastercard is a good deal if you shop at Loblaws anyways. Thoughts?

  • redflagdeals.com lays it all out. go there.
  • I've got REI.

1% on everything you charge + 10% on everything you purchase from REI.
  • President's Choice is great, including 1% MasterCard, free online banking, high interest savings account (where I keep my bankroll), the upcoming Tax Free Savings Account, etc. My wife wanted to buy the specials at No Frills this week and our grocery bill was over $80, but I used my PC points so I only had to pay $1 that would have cost us over $120 at another store!

Canadian Tire MasterCard has a slightly higher reward for me so I use it more, but we hardly shop at their store, so I have a lot of unused CT Money. Their security is great in that they phone your home number right away if there is a suspicious transaction, so when I used to be able to use the card to buy into a casino tournament, my wife wasn't too happy when she got the phone call! :-[
