More police raids!

There have been a couple more poker raids in the GTA this week. Last night, a couple of players were supposed to go to a rake-free home game but they bailed out at the last minute and went to an illegal club instead. Their night ended early when that bar in Toronto was raided!

In addition, A Hamilton bar was raided during lunch time with children around! It seems that 30 taxpayer-paid officers weren't enough last time so this time,
"40 officers from Hamilton Police Service worked in conjunction with the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit with assistance from the OPP Provincial Gaming Unit" to charge six people.
"They come in like there is some kind of bomb threat. They turn the place upside down and then they only arrest six of the hundreds of people that were inside. That makes no sense," said Cheryl, who was there with her family enjoying a meal.

  • Yeah I was at one last night. Brutal to say the least. All players where charged as "Found ins" and the owner, dealers and anyone else that helped (ie ME) got an additional "Keeper" attached to the citations. As it was explained to be later by a detective I'll just show up on the date and state my facts and it should be corrected. I was also told "Found ins" are asked to make a donation and their citations are cancelled without cause.
  • I would expect the details to be posted on the Toronto Police website later today. So much for the Woodbridge theory.

York Region is one of the tougher places to set up shop IMO, I was told this a while ago and I doubt this is the end of the raids.
  • Fuck tha police.

More accurately, fuck tha stupid casino-written laws against poker.

There are a few 'clubs' in Woodbridge that have been operating for years without any problems. The key is to open for a few months, shut it down and move to a new location and then reopen after a cooling off period. This seems to work well. Those that stay in the same place and have games every week, eventually get busted.

Yes, the casinos wrote the laws. Against poker. Against free alcohol. Against murder. The casinos run the world. The world was lawless until casinos came along to straighten everything out.

    In ontario, CASINO = GOVERNMENT.

AHA!!! Proof positive that 13Cards has a sense of humour. Who knew?

So your rebuttal is to twist my statement to imply that I meant casinos wrote ALL laws. Weak. All I really said was...

The casinos run the poker in Ontario.

I call this a first round knockout. Ship it!
