West Hill Warriors

The West Hill Warriors may soon have to start looking for a new logo and name. Turns out their Diversity and Equity Committee has decided the name should be changed because Aboriginals may take offense at the name/logo. Mentioned deeper in the story is the fact that no complaints have been received at the school, from the Aboriginal Community or anyone else for that matter. The Principal admitted this tonight on the six o'clock news. Seems the Committee is concerned about the possibility of complaints.

For the record, the team logo is an Aboriginal warrior, depicted in profile, wearing 3 "coup" feathers and war paint. It is very similar to what appears on the popular Mohawk flag seen so often at Aboriginal protests.

Why is it that so many Nanny Staters have to seek out issues where none exist. I would think that any high school of reasonable size would have enough existing equity and diversity issues, without having to go and create any. What the hell is this world coming too?

The problem with any big government is that too many people in those government jobs have too much power & too much time on their hands.

They make themselves feel more important by stirring things up and then claim to be 'concerned' about keeping the peace and taking preventative measures by creating new and more restrictive 'laws'.

I say, "If it isn't broken, don't try to fix it!"
