Grey Eagle Monthly Poker Challenge - Calgary

Has anyone played in this $300 monthly tournament held at Calgary's Grey Eagle Casino? The website indicates 10,000 starting chips with 88 player limit. Any details on the blind structure? Does it typically sell out early? I will be in Calgary on Dec. 3rd and was thinking about playing in this tournament.

    The one casino in Calgary I haven't visited yet. Seems odd to have their big monthly tourney on a Wednesday @ 2pm? I'm guessing they don't come close to filling this tourney.

    That being said, if you're going, let me know.......I'll book a day off and give it a try.

    I contacted the casino and no advance registration w credit card; only walkups; I guess I will have to see if there are any seats still available when I arrive. If you can find out anymore details on the blind structure, I would appreciate it. Only info I could obtain was that it is 20 minute blinds so its probably a very fast structure.

    any more details you can obtain would be great. With 10,000 starting chips, its still probably a much better structure than most of the Ontario casino tournaments. Can you also confirm that it is a freezeout. Thanks.

    10,000 starting chips, 20 min levels and a decent structure from what I saw, no antes at any time. The monthly Wed 2pm (middle of the afternoon) tournies regularly get 65-70 players so they are expecting at least 80 for the tourney on a Sunday, likely capped at around 120 players. If you want the exact blind structure I'll take a pic with my phone next time I'm there. You probably don't need to buy a seat in advance, but if you remind me closer to the date I can recheck for you as to the #s in at that time.

    thanks for the details; I was interested in the monthly Weds tournament which caps at 88, not the weekend tournament. Does the $165 tournament also start with 10,000 chips?
