Negreanu on CBC Sunday Oct 24th

Here's what he posted today on RGP:
For those interested, tommorow evening at 10:00pm EST CBC news did about a
10 minute piece on the Borgata where they followed Evelyn Ng and myself
throughout the tournament.

Take care,
Daniel Negreanu

  • This is probably a silly question but what is RGP all about? Is it a forum for poker players? Can someone post a link? I haven't been able to find the site.

    Thanks,
  • its a newsgroup

  • There are a few different ways to read RGP. It's a USENET (how retro) newsgroup.

You can use Outlook to read RGP.

It's also available therough Google Groups.

    http://groups.google.ca/groups?hl=en&lr=&safe=off&group=rec.gambling.poker

Naturally, because of the Google-nature, you can perform powerful and fast searches of RGP using this viewing method. A *very* good method for finding specific information within RGP.

There are also plenty of websites that link through to RGP. Although I have never used it, I believe

    www.recpoker.com

    works.
Is it a forum for poker players?

    Kind of.

I watched it, wasnt that special. Really seemed like cbc didnt know wtf they were talking about (I suppose thats not really new is it?). Also had a graphic of Williams saying he was the WSOP champion when he was heads up against Daniel.

Watched it mostly to see Evelyn though. :-)
  • Agreed, the 10-minute feature obviously wasn't meant for, or produced by, poker experts. That's OK, though... the more mainstream coverage the better, especially when it portrays poker pros as respectable people, which this did.

Daniel dated Evelyn for 4 years? Mmmmmm.

Another thought: can you believe that the one tournament the CBC decides to follow Daniel in, he wins?!? I know he wins more than his fair share of them, but still, the CBC producers must have LOVED that.

  • daniel may want to hire the CBC to follow him around permanently, they seem to be good luck.

... and it'll give the CBC something to air instead of hockey night in canada during the strike :)

I was doing laundry, then I came into the TV room to see my wife watching it! :D

    well trained....
  • I understand that they were not planning on following Daniel, but there original subject went bust quick and Daniel was the substitute?
  • In that case, they made a wise second choice lol. The original candidate must have busted out REALLY quick, because it seemed to me they were following Daniel from day one.

The height discrepency between Daniel and Evelyn made my g/f chuckle... ;)
