1-2 Fixed Limit in Las Vegas?

Sometime last year at a Waterloo home game (Waterlooser was the host) somebody was telling me about a $1-$2 FL game in Vegas. I don't remember the venue, does this sound familer to anybody?

Clearly this game is meant only for getting schammered and playing like a donkey. Which is exactly what I want to do on my upcoming trip!

I'll take any other suggestions for a place to get blotto and play cheap poker.

I don't recall seeing 1-2, I do remember drinking with BigE and playing 1-3 at Excaliber when we were stumbling around looking for Compuease.
  • I know Binions had a 2 5 limit game which I played while I waited for a seat in the NL game. I never saw a 1 2 game anywhere I went. But 2 5 drunken poker isn't that bad either. You'll make up for the $100 you loose just on the drinks.

    That's kinda the idea :)

Also I'd like to see what happens when Mario plays ridiculously low FL in Vegas.
  • The smaller older places spread 2/4 limit. Most bigger places will only go as low as 3/6. However I hear the Excalibur spreads .5/1 nl now that they have gone all electronic. Definitely want to visit there just to see what they are like. I assume 10 years from now people will be looking for hand dealt poker games just like people go looking for single deck BJ now.

I'm up for checking that out.

    Sadly you're probably right.

It was a rumour, I wasn't there, never been there, never will be there... Oh wait isn't there openings on the upcoming Nov Bristol st regulars boondoggle? Actually 2-4 limit is the lowest live game spread anywhere on the strip and I don't think anyone can beat the rake long term at that game. The Ex used to have a 1-3 and 2-6 spread limit game, now that was a drinking game! Too bad it's met its demise...
  • There are no $1/$2 FL games in Vegas. The only places that I recall having $2/$4 FL were the Imperial Palace, and possibly the Riviera. Everywhere else I played had $3/$6 FL or $4/$8 FL

Imperial Palace is a fun spot to play drunken $2/$4 because the drink service is really quick, $2/hour poker comp, and it has a high amount of Canadian patrons. You won't be beating the rake, but you might stay a float. Still a good value considering your getting $1 rum and cokes.

Most of the $3/$6 games are super easy as a lot of the leisure players stay away from no limit. I wouldn't play $2/$4 in Vegas, sober, because you could be making money at $3/$6 as these games are super loose.

    Take me back.
  • 2/4 at Sahara. Single $2 blind. $3 max rake + $1 BBJ. Good comps.
  • Hey JohnnieH, how about this review of Bill's, may be worth checking out as a drinking game...

"Bill's poker room offers $2 per hour comps that are redeemable directly at any retail or food outlet within the Bill's property. The poker room offers $1 blind NLHE with a $20 min buy in ($200 max), and a 2-6 spread limit HE game. They also offer flat payouts for quads or better as well as a popular Aces and Kings cracked bonus promotion from 11AM to 2PM daily."

  • There's as $1-3-6 Limit Holdem
game at the EL Cortez downtown.

Game is played with only one $1 blind.
    It's Spread Limit $1-$3 pre-flop and flop,
then $2-$6 on the turn and river.
Pretty common to have 6-7 players
limp in for a buck to see the flop.
I rarely ever saw anyone bet more than $2 on any street.
If you wanna play for while on a small budget
(or while you're hammered), this is your game.

Occasionally they get a $1-3 spread limit Stud game going too.

    FYI:
Rake is 5% upto a max of $2.50.
    People smoke at the table.
Comps pay $5 for 4 hours of play.
