MrsHoldem busts Al Krux
Thursday Night NL tourney at Akwesasne Casino...
On the final hand before the break... MrsHoldem gets dealt KK and in a four-way pot knocks out 3 players including 2004 WSOP 6th place finisher Al Krux.
She goes on to finish unlucky 13th... I finished 6th... finally placing ahead of her after a string of embarrassing showings!!:D

So, MrsHoldem knocking him out is pretty amazing. I would rank Al way higher on skill than any other player at the final 2004 WSOP table other than Dan Harrington. His only flaw is that he's not able to adjust his thinking after someone reacts to his bet/raise. Looks like that's how he got knocked out. My guess is that the other two players limped, Al made a sizeable raise with AQs, and MrsHoldem pushes in -- Call, Call Call. The three callers have all the aces in the hand. Al's pretty stubborn, and won't back down!
Al actually saved me in a big way at WSOP. It was real easy to spot him as the best player at the table very early. About mid-day I get pocket Jacks and raise 4x the BB. I get smooth called by Mr. Tight who's hitting like crazy. Alarm bells start going off for me. All day Al's always taking his time when he folds to a raise. When the action comes to Al, his cards hit the muck faster than the road runner. Now, I know he's got the same read on Mr. tight, and he's likely got aces, kings or queens. I know my read is right because of Al's actions. So, I learned that if you're not good at reading opponents -- look at the best player at the table and see how they read players! Anywho, the flop comes KQ6 rainbow. I bet half the pot, and Mr. Tight raises 3X. My cards hit the muck real fast, and Mr. Tight shows me his pocket queens. I supposed I could have saved that flop bet, but I wanted to take a stab, as he would have release his jacks or tens which were slight possibilities.
What were your thoughts on Al's skills?
Cheers
