If I only owned 10 CDs, they would be....

I have often thought about the top 10 albums/CDs that I enjoy the most. Here is my top 10 list (which is a moving target). Be interested to see what other people place in their personal top 10. There are other albums that I think are great but if I was limited to 10 CDs, I would prefer albums that are solid from start to finish. Have tried to stay away from greatest hits and live albums. Seem to be stuck in the 80s still.

1. Black Sabbath - Paranoid
2. The Doors - The Doors
3. English Beat - Just Can't Stop It
4. The Police - Message in a Bottle
5. Green Day - American Idiot
6. The Clash - The Clash
7. U2 - WAR
8. Nirvana - Nevermind
9. Everclear - Sparkle & Fade
10. The Verve - Urban Hymns

No. 6 I think is a great solid album but I have probably listened to it too much in the last 10+ years. Radiohead should be in my top 10 but again I've overkilled their airplay.
  • Likely a work in progress...

    1. Highway 61 Revisited - Bob Dylan
    2. John Prine - John Prine
    3. Near Truths and Hotel Rooms - Todd Snider
    4. Sit Down Young Stranger / If You Could Read My Mind - Gordon Lightfoot
    5. Kristofferson - Kris Kristofferson
    6. At Folsom Prison - Johnny Cash (yea, live - wanna fight about it?)
    7. VS. - Pearl Jam
    8. <TBD>
    9. <TBD>
    10.<TBD>
  • In no particular order...

    The White Album
    The Doors
    Who's Next
    Tommy
    Darkside of The Moon
    At Folsom Prison
    Pearl
    Led Zepplin IV
    The Joshua Tree

... And I can't decide yet on the last one...
  • 1....7. Radiohead
    8. The Eraser -Thom Yorke
    9. The Wall - Pink Floyd
    10. Some Armin Van Buuren mix

    Honourable mention goes out to:

    Ten - Pearl Jam
Joshua Tree - U2 (thier last good album!)
Rush of Blood to the head - Cold Play
    Bloom - Garbirel and Dresden
Live in Paris - Dianna Krall
Blackout - Britney Spears (yes I am going to hell but this album makes me wiggle)
  • I guess everyone is too young to not have any Rush in their top ten. Awesome, if you like Radiohead, I probably have a few DVDs you would like. Really old stuff.

I know what you mean... I don't listen to it as much as I used to maybe for the same reason but it's still a classic in my book !

Also... if you haven't listen to the rise against album I put out there try it, it's not as much of a love it/hate it like billy Talent (where alot of people can't stand the singer).

Interesting how what album you pick shows a bit of your age :)

    edit :
9- Shania Twain - The woman in me

    Yeah I'm gay.
There are so many good song on that album, my mom bought it for me when I was a little kid and I still have many of the song in my winamp playlist.

MP3 CDs so they could each hold 120+ songs.

    /g2

I admit to owning this album and it has had its fair share of airtime. Might make my top 30 or top 20 list.

PokerJAH... yes, I would like :). Saw them at the Amphitheatre for the first time a couple weeks ago.
  • 10. Some Armin Van Buuren mix

Might be the only guy who listens to the same stuff I do!

Tiesto - In Search of Sunrise Vol 2. Prob my fav album ever.

Maybe we should have a separate thread on the gayist albums we admit to owning (not that there's anything wrong with that).

You would be jealous, I saw Radiohead years ago at a club on Queen East with 100 people. Actually I have seen 7 of my 10 favourite live.

    Metallica Master of Puppets
    KISS Alive
    Queensryche Operation Mindcrime

Now if you were to tell me to pick one band's CD's for the rest of my life, it would be a toss-up between Led Zep and Queensryche. Always liked the hard stuff.

*I new I'd catch flack if I put a regular compilation soundtrack but close second is Fiddler on the roof.. and my late edition....Slippery When Wet -Bon Jovi!!!!
