Moose Chip Anthology - What 16 months on Chiptalk will do to you
So another package arrived today, essentially completing my chip journey. Still on the lookout for various odds and ends but my sets are essentially complete. It's been a crazy 16 months.
It's gotten to the point where people ask me, "So how many chips DO you have?" That question has gotten harder and harder to answer as time goes by. To be honest, I've lost track of the total if I include all the sample sets I've collected and bits and pieces that fellow CT'ers have sent me. Anyways now it is easier if my answer breaks it down to Desert Sands or Paulson, cash or tourney.
I initially joined CT in search of $5k Desert Sands chip created by SunderB. Didn't get any of his but SunderB did point me towards these from the Nevada Jacks forum.
The Desert Sands chips grew and grew and grew.
I think I found my Christmas card photo for this year.
So my Desert Sands collection grew from 1500 to 2225 chips.
Cash Set:
250 $.25
200 $1
100 $5
100 $10 custom
Tourney Set:
375 $25
400 $100
250 $500
350 $1000 (but 125 are some crappy faded chips that Nevada Jacks kindly replaced for me.)
75 $5k custom
100 $10k custom
25 $25k custom
But that wasn't enough. In January I made an impulse buy and bought some Tukwila's from the ChipRoom through ebay. 500 Tukwilas soon arrived. To my delight the 5s and 25s were mint. A new chip search began. First I thought I would try and get a heads up set together, then that plan grew to a sng set, then a 2 table set and on and on they grew. I got in on the Palm Imports bird cage group buy. Surely one 600 ct and one 1000 ct carrier would be enough to hold all my Paulsons.
lol. By the time they arrived I had far outgrown them. Anyways nominally here is my cash set.
And my tourney set:
Well as I said 16 months later, this is what I ended up with:
Yes I've outgrown my birdcages by a lot. Over 21 racks of Paulson's. Plus 163 oversized Winner club. 300 hotstamped Tmolds that I won in MikeyShane's spring league and various other odds and ends that I have collected.
As I said it's easier for me to keep track of these organized by sets. So here we go:
First the Paulson Casino tourney set.
240 $25 Tukwila, 40 mint
110 $100 Tukwila
250 $100 Harbor Lights, mint
60 $500 Harbor Lights, mint
113 $1k Winner Club, mint (one is missing from the picture, which thankfully I found when I put everything away.)
40 $5k Winner Club, mint
10 $10k Winner Club, mint
Total 823
Now the Paulson casino cash set.
100 Paulson Plums sample chips which I will use for $.10 chips for Stud games
100 $.25 MotorCity
200 $.50 Lumiere
350 $1 Tukwila
400 $5 Tukwila - mint
Total 1150
Except for the $1s, all my cash chips are mint or very good condition with sharp edges.
Next i have a little mini set of Paulson's that I haven't figured out what I want to do with yet.
100 Biloxi Grand Casino
100 .50 Double Down
100 gold A Roulette's
15 orange A Roulette's
10 pink A Roulette's
Total 325
Then I have my odds and ends.
300 Hot stamped Tmolds from Miandsh2000
My helper chips and 40 Protoge NCV.
20 Show'em
10 WTF ?
10 WTF Thinking man
35 STFU w Text
2 STFU w/o Text
40 Bounty 43 mm Zombies
Total 157
My dealer buttons and some Moose card markers, including two Our Gang buttons from Palm Imports, my custom designed Bristol Street button (ckoi7arnak) and 5 Private Cardroom.
Thus concludes my chip anthology. I'll leave out my afore-mentioned sample sets and casino chips and various other odds and ends.
It's been a whirlwind 16 months and great fun.
BTW that makes the total 4980. Add in my samples and other collectibles and that puts me over the 5k mark. Woot.

I did have a question about your following tourney set. Are you sure you only have 75 $5K chips or is that a typo?
Tourney Set:
375 $25
400 $100
250 $500
350 $1000 (but 125 are some crappy faded chips that Nevada Jacks kindly replaced for me.)
75 $5k custom
100 $10k custom
25 $25k custom
*the preceeding message is not a true reflection of MickeyHoldem's true feelings! He is actually extremely jealous, envious, and generally pissed off that he has been shown to be inadaquit in his own chip collecting! Sweet collection!
Yeah with custom orders you need to order a min quantity of 500 chips, so out of reach for the ave person though in retrospect I ended up spending far more on the Paulsons. So when some guy put his up for sale on the Nevada Jacks forums I grabbed all that he had which were the 75 $5k and 25 $10k. I was lucky that 10 months later someone put together a group buy on CT and made more $10k chips that almost exactly matched mine, so I bought 75 more of those and added the 25 $25k chips.
I would also like to point out that my Paulsons are all from casino's - either live chips or closed casino's or casino's that never opened. Very difficult to put together. Just the tourney set alone came from 8 different people I made deals with on CT.
are these like ball cards, they increase in value over time? didn't realize there was a market for chip sets. If I come across anything interesting, I will keep you in mind.

Might get spammed, but could be worth it.
I want it to be glass enclosed with black velvet inside and angled displays. It's then going on the wall of my office at work.
But this level of sacrifice and attention to detail goes far beyond me.. Well done.
My collection was 8 stupid dice/diamond/crap sets that I keep winning from those stupid bar tournaments. Why tournament organizers think poker players want dice sets of chips is beyond me.
I have a 20$ walmart chip set ! w00t :P
+1
And thanks for all the pics, Moose. Now, whenever I mention an upgrade to my chips, THIS is what the wife is going to picture in her head. Thanks a lot.
Dice chips 4 Life. FTW
Seriously nice chips, though . . .

I also got a WPT set of 500 chips, their decent.
I am working on a Paulson Pharaoh set and since CT now I bought a set of 100x$.50 JB BCCs and now the fever of getting some real casino Paulson is running through my blood. LOL
