CPT @ River Cree or 6th Annual Edmonton Poker Classic?

Posted this in the wrong section.......anyhow. For those who don't know....here you go. Two big tourneys going head to head. I'm guessing the River Cree one will draw more people, as some big names may be coming (Brad Booth, Gavin Smith)...but those are just rumours as far as I know.

Comments

  • Played the Omaha at RiverCree last night.......had about 80 players....1st place paid $8700.00......not bad. Unfortunately didn't do so well finished with 3 tables left.

The CPT guy did a big speach promising lots of tourneys and a tourney of champs in January (winner getting tourney sponsorship for a year...we'll see)....as well as relaunching the magazine in November.
  • Thanks for the report. Was the CPT guy's name Ken? Did he mention any CPT tournaments in the have-not province called Ontario? :(

This guy started a thread on 2+2 and the same question was asked.

Canadain Poker Tour in Edmonton - Two Plus Two Poker Forum

    No answer yet.....
  • It's too bad that the Canadian casinos in Windsor, Rama and Niagara Falls refuse to register their tournaments for free with the Canadian Poker Tour, :( but at least the upcoming Point Edward and Great Blue Heron tournaments are CPT-registered events.

Didn't catch his name...from Winterpeg I believe. He said there will be 35+ tourney's before year end......so I'd have to believe that would include Ontario.

Unfortunately there was a shooting at the nightclub there Friday night, so the Saturday event which I had planned to play was delayed, so I didn't play.

I know they had some brochures, but I forgot to grab any. I'll see if I can get hold of some and let you know any potential dates.
