Most annoying commercials during the Olympics?
My vote is for the Air Canada commercials. Are they really that full of themselves? Give me a break.
My 2nd choice would be the Casino Rama commercials. WTF?

Hands down the mildly retarded kids in the Mcdonalds commercial....have you seen that kid pretend to be a boxer??
The McDs one with the napkin is lame too.
I'm usually violently puking by the time the sponsor comes up, so I don't know who it is.
I think your comprehension of that sentence is way off here. If anything, on its own, without being put into context within a song or paragraph, the sentence "I've got soul, but I'm not a soldier" should be interpreted as 'many or all soldiers have soul and, while I too possess soul, I am, in fact, not a soldier'.
If you actually look into the rest of the lyrics of this song, I think it is interpreted by many to be an anti-child soldier song (ie. I, as a child, was born with a soul, but I was not born just to be forced against my will into war as a child soldier).
Not sure that the lyrics really apply in any meaningful way to Olympic athletes. I think Nike just likes the fact that it's a catchy tune with the words soul and soldier (see sports 'battles'). In my mind, this commercial actually brings up the correlation between forced child soldiers and child labourers (see Nike sweat shops) ... so I still do agree with you that Nike Inc. can stick it up their ass.
Although on second thought, maybe it does apply to 3-5 year-old Chinese kids being separated from their families for most of their childhoods to be put into intensive sports training camps ... although I don't think Nike was going for that image either.
I think you are getting caught up in the association of the word 'soldier' to war.. He's talking about being a soldier in the army of the church... It's really a song about a spiritual crisis in the guys life...

I personally like to interpet that line of the song as him saying that he has the required faith but isn't willing to be a blindly led 'solider' who follows the word of the church.
Also Moose.. ya.. there's a 'BUT' in there you can you miss.. Changes the meaning significantly.
Anyway, it's a beautiful song regardless.
Edit: I just wanted to add that it's really up to everyone to make up their own mind.. It coulda been written about a cheeseburger he really loved from McDonalds.. ;-)
Edit #2: Yer right Moose.. You take that line out of context it does sound like a slam on the military.. I'm sure the person who picked it was just stupid and didn't see it's ambiguity.
EDIT: BBC that's not me talking about soldiers. Bump up the reading comprehension scores a little bit will ya?
