WSOP Registration Help Getting Money to Vegas

I'm thinking of going down to Vegas next year to play in a some tournaments and cash games.

I understand the maximum u can take down in cash is $10k.

1. Whats the best way to get more cash down there?

2. If you win some money how do you get the money back to Canada?

Can I make wire transfers to and from the casinos or hotels for cash pickup? Do I have to open a US bank account in Vegas?

Just looking for the most efficient and secure method. Thanks in advance.

There is no maximum... you only have to declare an amount greater than $10000 to the custom officials.

Call Harrahs and ask them how you can arrange a wire... just tell them its for a wsop entry... they'll be very helpful after you tell them that!

It says you can wire money, or use a personal check.

Thats for Europe, but I'd imagine same rules apply to Vegas.

once the dates for each event are released for The WSOP 2009 usually in January or February. The details on how to pay for events will also be listed. The last 2 years you could only pay with a cashiers check, wire transfer, or credit card as a cash advance and a small fee.

Are there any drawbacks/fees/delays/etc to declaring and bringing/coming back with over $10k in cash to/from the US?

Do any of you guys open US bank accounts down there?

I'm also hoping to hear from SirWatts, Choron, etc. on the best way for Canadians to have access to over $10K cash for tournaments and cash games in Las Vegas. When I was in Las Vegas last month, my friends played at the Bellagio and Wynn cash games, but I knew that I hadn't brought enough cash to play in higher limits than 1/2. I stopped playing cash games at Caesars Palace because its lowest limit was 1/3 with a maximum buy-in of $500. Next time I go to Las Vegas, the following is what I am thinking of doing.

1) My roommate and I will bring U$10K cash each.
2) Get a hotel safety deposit box to store the cash.
3) Prepay my credit card by at least $1K in case I need to get more cash, while minimizing the rip-off cash advance charges.

Plan B: win a tournament early so I don't have to worry about running out of cash.

Obviously I used wires everywhere and then sent the balance back when you leave...I do carry like to carry the max on me when I travel though (10k) and just walk on thru...I wire a lot more though...
