Seneca Suspends Omaha

Got this email today from Seneca Casino. Any ideas why? no profit, lack of interest?

Seneca Poker at Niagara Falls has currently suspended all variations of Omaha games until further notice. We still spread Limit and No-Limit Texas Hold ‘em, 7 Card Stud, and Crazy Pineapple. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If you have any comments or concerns, please email us at info@senecapoker.com.

lol, isn't it the truth; what's the average age at the omaha table, 75? must have been a big game back in the hay day.
  • Hey!

I've played Omaha 50% of the time I was at Seneca!

  • My 2¢ guess is that the old Omaha regulars did something very inappropriate, e.g., their constant crankiness became too much or cheating ala Absolute/UB.

An interesting incident happened at Seneca where a dealer said something to my friend during a humongous pot, so the lawyers are now involved.

Can a player go after a dealer for a comment made during a hand? haven't heard of that one. Not sure how the suit can exceed the cost of the lawyer's time. Must have been a big pot; wasn't the bad beat jackpot? that would be worth it.
  • I think it's straight $...

Omaha has fewer hands / hour, and a similar rake than NLHE. I would wager that they would prefer to just have another table running NLHE that makes more.

For example, 13cards, would FV consider running a $1/$2 PLOM game? I'm in!

I highly doubt that because they stated the are still running Stud and that is a slower game still.
  • Any guesses on the chances of successfully suing an Indian Gaming Facility?
  • Do they ever actually spread Crazy Pineapple? I love that game.
