Casino Rama

We're heading to a resort for some vacation next week, and the resort happens to be about a 5 minute drive from Rama. Nice.

The last time I was there was 2 years ago.

Can anyone who plays there regularly, or played there recently, let me know how the room is of late? What games are they spreading these days? How busy is it? Is there a phone-in system, similar to Brantford? Ratio of NL to fixed limit? Anything else I need to know?

Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.

  • ahhhh i see, i know what resort ya talking about i think:), i notice there is more no limit then fixed limit there, there poker room was under renovations last month when i was there and some tables were out on the open floor, so not sure if the poker room is back open, phone in is only for people staying at their hotel if i remember from another thread, but someone else on this forum may provide more up to date info.
  • no phone-in allowed; have only played 1/2 or 2/5 NL there; if you are stay at the Fern Resort, wouldn't mind knowing what you think. They have a great deal for the Sept long weekend.
  • I play Rama monthly there is always at lease 3 good players at the table. Fish come and go all night friday and saturday. If you not use to NL , the good players will make you pay. 1/2 NL has less bluffing more slow players than 2/5 NL. Good luck. Careful the fish dont bite back, good luck.

I've been a Fern Resort regular all my life. As a kid, I used to go there each summer with my family. Now, I take my family there every other year. It's awesome, especially if you have kids. Even if you don't, I'd recommend it.

thanks, good to know. Have only been to the Delewana with the kids before. Being that close to a casino would be too tempting. There like a two minute drive away.
  • For NL, they have 1/2 & 2/5 w/ $500 max buy-in. Busy on weekends, very long wait due to no phone-ins.

There are more good players per table at Rama 2/5 than FV's 5/5 IMO (Rama often has few 2/5 tables so more good players on just a few tables). On weekdays, Rama 2/5 has many good aggressive players (only 2 2/5 tables on weekdays I think, so many good players on just 2 tables). Game is beatable (good rake & fish but not as much as FV).
