Poker In Macau-PokerStars Room at the Grand Waldo Casino
So we're in Hong Kong and I've convinced my wife that we have to go to Macau so I can play at the PS room at the Grand Waldo Casino. We take the ferry over and after a clusterfukc finally get to the casino only to find out that the room doesn't open until 7 pm. This does not make me or my wife happy as it is about 2:30 pm. Kill some time and go back for around 6:45 pm. I am the ONLY player at this point and I start to get worried. I ask the room manager what the usual turn out is and she says usually 1-2 tables on a Monday night. Suddenly a bunch of guys roll in and she calls me over to start playing. I buy in for $1000 HKD to play 10-20 NL. Six of us start playing. I get shit hands until I raise from EP with AJs and get raised and re-raised. I fold. Flop comes low-low-low with 2 flush cards. Turn brings a 9 and river is an ace, one bettor rolls over 56s and scoops the pot with a pair of sixes! Two hands later I get K6o in the BB and see a flop with 3 other players. Flop comes K88 and I lead out, get a caller others fold. Turn is a 3, I bet out again and he means to raise but just throws chips out and dealer says that his action means a call. River is a blank, I check he bets $100 HKD and I call, he shows A high and I scoop the pot. Within the next few hands two of the six players have gone all in and lost and suddenly everyone gets up and leaves me, the lone "gwai-lo", which means "white devil" sitting alone. So I've made my wife suffer through an entire boring day waiting to play poker and then 10 hands or so we're done! (plus I was down $40 HKD from blinds-$5 CAD). I got up cashed out, located my wife at the slot machines and took the ferry back to HK. Out tickets were for 9:30 pm, but we tried to get standby on the 8:15 ferry. With a line of at least 60 people, where does it stop? We are the first two who don't get on the boat...caps off a perfect day! $&@*(%$UHOR&*()
The room itself seemed nice with about 10-12 tables. The staff seemed to know what was going on and I got two free small draft beers during my stay. Downstairs at the main level was a cordoned off area for tournaments. Other than that my sample size was pretty small.
Apparently the poker boom is still gathering momentum over in Asia.

i was in china, play it underground club
most people there only know the ranking of hands because of game big two.
it goes like this
UTG raise (blind, he hasn't look at the card)
UTG+1 didn't look at his card.....he say, what...you think you are luckier then me....i don't believe you are luckier then me.....make a huge reraise.
MP didn't look at his card too
i'm the luckiest person here....i'm all-in.....
HJ, CO, goes allin blind.
BTN (me) well....i have to look....then i get laugh at for been gutless
i see A6o.
i fold
both sb and bb goes allin as well
i figure with this much action, only aces, kings, queens are playable.
i end the night losing because of the blinds.......
how would you guys play, if game is 100 VPIP, and you don't get to see flop unless you are going alling with the table.
i feel my skill is useless.
IMO, it's hardest game to beat.
well, it depends on deep people's stacks are in relation to chips. if everyone is deep then you can wait for top 10 hands then push and cross your fingers. high probability of losing since it is 6 way, but the odds are there. just if you want to gamble at this table or not.
its like i offer you a bet that pays out 1:1 and you have 60% to win but you have to at least bet $10000. will you call? hypothetical.
