Cashing in stock certificates

Does anyone know how to cash stock certificates? I do not have a stock broker.

    If you have a trading account such as TD Waterhouse or something like that, you can take it to them and they will cash it for you. If you don't have one, you'll probably have to create on.

    Like honest to god physical stock certificates? Holy crap I didn't know they still had those.

    Yeah you can pretty much open a brokerage account with anyone (use your current bank) and you can mail the certs (REGISTERED) to them.

    I wasnt really thinking when I was taking it out I hit certificate instead of sell.

    take it to any discount broker (TD Waterhouse, etc.) and open an account. They will deposit the shares in your account and then you can sell them. I've done it a few times.
