New Here......

Hi all,
First time post here, but I have been reading this forum for a little while now and find it very informative and useful.
I have been playing poker for only about 8 months now, still learning obviously, at school near Niagara Falls, paly at casino niagara just 1-2 NL for now, enjoying so far, have played some of their $35 'bingo' sit-and-gos and have done ok so far, as well tried two of their $70 satellites.
First question, does anyone know if the WPT at fallsview is cancelled? or is it coming back, I know its on hold, but have a voucher so not sure what to do with it.

Secondly, I am going to vegas with a friend for my 21st birthday in about 2 weeks, we are staying at cesars and going for a total of one week.
I am interested in playing some low level tournaments just for more experience, like $50-$80? Does anyone have any recommendations as to what casino would be good or offers any good tournaments. I have found some schedules online, but just curious from your personal experiences if you guys have any you recommend.

thanks for the advice, looking forward to using this site

  • First off, welcome to the site.

As for WPT Fallsview... still shows on the website, but given that their stock was down to $1 or something, who knows what the future is for WPTE.

As for vegas, these sites have some good info:
    Las Vegas Poker Tournament Schedule
Las Vegas Poker Tournament Schedule Daily Tournaments List Listing

    All the best,

    Graham

Are we reading the same forum? ;) Welcome!

The big show will go on. When I tried to claim my voucher belatedly at the cage last week, phone calls were made and I was informed that the casino is keeping all the vouchers until the satellites start again, probably because the vouchers contain the three evil letters which have been wiped out of existence from both casinos for now (hint: it starts with W and ends with T). ;)

If only I was turning 21, I would go to the WSOP and blow my OSAP tuition fund trying to become the youngest to win a bracelet. There are a lot of excellent tournaments in Las Vegas when we are there in July which I have posted about and I will probably be spending even more time at Caesars Palace than you, but unfortunately, I don't know any non-donkaments under $120.
  • 1. Welcome to the Forum!

    2. Sweet avatar. The Jays old logo is the shit.

    3. What Blondefish said.

    4. If you can make the drive to KW, we have many competitive Low Buy-Ins. Check the Home Games thread.

    5. Good luck in Vegas!

Not sure when you are going - exact dates might help, but if the Venetian Deepstack is still going on, I know they run satellite for like $80 or so that leads into the $330 tournaments.
