Blue Water Classic - Sept 08

Just a note to say that seats are now being sold for the Point Edward - Blue Water Classic which is Tuesday Sept 23-27 with Main Event on Sunday, Sept 28.

Entry Fees: Tuesday ($150 + $14), Wed ($300 + 30), Thurs, Fri and Sat - qualifiers for main event ($750 + $50 each day).

The number of players per event has been cut back to 100 (from 150).

On Tuesdays there are multi-table satellites for the Main Event qualifiers. They cost $75 + $5 with rebuys at $40. 50 players max. I believe you can register up to 1 week prior for these.

Registration can be made by phone at: 1-888-394-6244 * ask for the Gift Shop *

This is a really well-run tournament and the staff is the best!!

  • Thanks, Animaux.
Before I decide to gamboool almost $3K and spend an entire week out of town, I wanted to find out the details, but as before, the staff I talked to don't know the details, the casino that generates huge revenues still doesn't have its own website, the OLG website has zero information, and I have never received a single letter or email as an OLG Winners Circle member. :( Before the old CPT website disappeared, it used to have some event details available. There is no email address or online forum presence for Point Edward Casino, so I emailed OLG as a last resort hoping to get a copy of the mandatory Rules and Regulations document, but all I got so far is an automated reply stating that they are currently experiencing a high volume of e-mails.

Believe it or not, it will cost me less in buy-ins for the EIGHT multiple-day tournaments with very high Patience Factors that I'm playing in Las Vegas than these five tournaments! :o
  • This event can't be found on the net and the the 1-800 number that I called had very little to useless details on this event.
  • OLG has still not responsed to my email. Is anybody else besides Animaux and me planning to play in any of the Casino Point Edward tournaments? I am thinking of driving there on or before Tuesday September 23, playing in any multi and single-table satellites and NL cash games. I am considering first going to Caesars Windsor on September 20 for the WSOP satellites.

  • I have registered for the $150+$15 tournament on Tuesday, September 23 at 4 PM. While I am waiting from a couple of friends to decide, is anybody interested in carpooling or splitting a motel room for the week?

Any idea on # of entries thus far for each events?
  • I was told there were 30 seats left for the $165 tournament, i.e., 70 entries.

  • Anyone from KW interested in carpooling for either the Tues or Wed night event? I can't stay the entire week but definitely want to play one or two of these tournaments.
  • The $165 and $330 events are sold out, but there are seats left for Thursday and Friday. It looks like there are only two forumers playing in this week-long event with a prize pool of up to $270,000.

My Las Vegas roommate and I are staying in a motel for only $74/night. There is an MTT satellite on Monday night, so we are planning to drive there well before it starts and play the new no-limit cash games. On the way back, I plan to stop by Caesars Windsor and Casino Brantford (to buy a seat for their weekly Thursday tournament).
