Edmonton Bust Out Hands
NLH $500 buy-in
I had been getting pretty good hands before the break and was sitting with about 11000. After the break hands went cold (good starting hands but missing flop) blinds are 75 150 im in early middle position and find KcJs I'm now sitting with about 5000 and decide to try and limp, have a total of 5 callers. Flop comes KhJh9c Early position bets 2000 (has been a tight player) my alarm bell goes off STRAIGHT STRAIGHT STRAIGHT and I push all-in. He calls, shows his straight and no help.
Help me guys should I drop this hand after that bet? I know how weak KJ is but god it looks like gold when you go a few orbits without seeing anything. A similar thing happened in the regina tourney. I flop KQ and get busted to an all-in raise with trip Q's.
P.S Like to congradulate my mommy who got 2nd in the LH event in Edmonton. Anybody who was watching should know that the reason she took the $2000 to give up is that she was very sick at the time and just wanted it to end. I'm not sure what the chip count was but I told her she was crazy.

I can understand how great KJo looks after getting nothing bu like k3o or 49s non-stop for quite a few rounds looks like. it is GOLD! but u didnt mention position on the hand so it could make difference, in all honesty i would probably raise or fold. the thing I wonder about it, he bet 2000 into what seems to be about 1000-1200 pot and the bells kept screaming str8 str8 str8 to you and if in fact he has the straight, he is calling your all in w/o question, you only had 4 outs to improve to beat his straight, the 2 remaining Ks and Js. If you let it go on the flop, im sure something more appealing would of eventually came. you had plenty of time imo to double up w/ about 5k if blinds are 75/150, but if i was in your situation and had nothing but rags orbit after orbit i would probably go broke with a flop like this thinking i was way ahead in the hand, of course, until QT is turned over.....i think you could of layed down this monster, and this joker wouldnt of gotten "paid off" on this hand......im sure you could of hit something better if a little more patient, but hey, its my 2 cents, im just a low limit player and definately not at this league of buy-in type tournaments.
hope this helps
btw, congrats to your mom for the great place in the tournament
