Omaha_Ed's road trip report
Well, I just got finished my tournament road trip. The action started in Minneapolis where Canterbury Downs was hosting a 14 day event with different tourneys every day. I was little panicked when I got there as I only took a couple thousand American and then found out there was no Comerica bank there! Agh--how was I goi8ng to access my American money with a 300 a day ATM limit?? I didn't have to worry long as I won event 3--the $100 limit hold'em. Even after they kept 28% tax for being a Canadian lol (Americans only got a form and all the cash), I was still flush and able to play all events. I went on to come 10th in the $200 O8 event and 2nd in the $500 O8. Even with a 1st, 2nd and 10th I still only came 3rd in the points race (maybe I shouldn't have blanked in all 5 of the NL HE evnts I played). Still, got a nice trophy for 3rd in the all around and a bonus $1000. Once again Canterbury lived up to my expectations as my favorite room and tourney anywhere. The side action was great. I spent most of my time in the 30-60 H/L stud and 20-40 1/2 kill Omaha 8. After all expenses I came away with over $13,000 US profit and another $3,000 tax grab to file back for. I will post another thread on my Edmonton results which were far less exciting lol. Still wish one of you would have made the trip with me---it was a lot of fun. good luck all.

Remind me not to get in a Omaha hi/lo game with you.

I was wondering about the US Tax Policy on gaming. Since I'm not of age there yet, but will be soon. What can I expect to pay if I win. Is there a max bracket, min bracket and how would I recoup these taxes?
Thanks
