How do YOU beat the donks?
It's been a bad bad 2-3 days so far...
I can't beat donks... they just luckbox all the time it seems the last one QQ vs J5o
Anyways... I put notes on them, I know I have the best hand, by like a mile, but still they hit their 2-3 outers and take me out.
It's been simply crazy lately.
How do you beat those players who call big raise with A3o and beat your AK when when the rivers brings a 3 ?
Why do they ALWAYS seems to win those hands and then go "thks for the chips" and when you tell them they're some stupid donk they go "lol looks who's talking you're out". WTF.
I'm annoyed and I can't beat them... I looked back at the HS of my 5-6 last tournaments and I haven't done any calls where I'm like "Hmm that was dumb" . I've made the correct decision everytime yet I can't win.
Tips? Suggestion?

I've had those same stretches, and even though it feels like there is more to it, then just them being "luckboxes", there isn't. It will even out in the long run.
All you can do is keep notes on the people who are notorious for making huge preflop calls with absolute crap hands, and follow them around exploiting the hell out of them. Most sites, like FT for example, have a "Find Player" option. Sometimes if I don't feel like sitting down cold, I'll search to see if any of my "list of fish", which is getting fairly long, are playing at my favourite limits. If so I hope to sit to their left and make some easy money.
I hope the tables turn around for you before you quit the game.
There's so many tournaments / sng on stars that it's hard to play against the same player twice... but I guess that's the problem with not taking notes on players you don't remember them...
Anyways... I was venting a little, feel better now.
It's weird cause since I joined this site I've read alot of strategy, posted hands, asked question, bought books... and it feels like I'm getting sucked out more than ever lol
Just keep pushing that needle a little further Moose. It will break eventually.
Prophet 22
still type loser or whatever you want to call them and you wont be able to see what they type back, and you will feel much better.
i am getting the same advice from alot of people that has already been posted here, i will win in the long run and more then they will and try to keep your confidence up.
Tapping the glass is ALWAYS +EV !!

I may be wrong, but if you're getting sucked out on more than before, doesn't that mean your overall play is IMPROVING?
Always look on the bright side of life . . .
Although thats very sound advise, it does little to soothe the pain.
I gave up playing online for about two months or so, just to get away from it for awhile. Just now starting to play the odd SNG and low level games on a small site, just for fun.
Taking a break may be the answer. All the advise so far is good though, it will turn around for you in time. A suckout is designed to put you through hell on purpose. Tests your patience for the game.
I agree with Milo, as long as you're getting your chips in with the best of it, you're doing something right.
Actually, despite the intended sarcasm, it in fact can be +EV if venting in chat prevents a player from venting via bad play after. Naturally the best, logical play is to compliment the bad player and happily move on but sometimes that is not always easy.
This past weekend I had a bizarre stretch in about 8 tournaments where I was not an underdog (except the 54/46 coin flip type) in any all in I was part of, yet I have nothing to show for it at the end of the weekend. People calling all ins with K2, Q3 you name it. One guy min reraised me then called my all in preflop with 98 suited saying he put me on a bluff.
In contrast 2 weeks ago I qualified for Cryptos weekly 200+15 tourney in a qualifier by having my 99 beat JJ and my 10 10 beat KK all in preflop (and then won $600 in the tourney), so sometimes luck can work for you as well.
Better players tend to not be as dominated as often, so suckouts will happen more to good players then bad players simply because bad players will be in bad spots far more often. If you are ever tempted to fall into the belief structure that bad players win in the end or sites reward bad players, I suggest simply doing a sharkscope or tournament tracker of a player after they call an all in of 1500 with blinds of 10 /20 and A6 off. Hint - you will see results similar to a guy who I saw do that (and win) a short while ago named Marquinho60 on Stars
and to add to what Milo said, something I try and keep in mind, when you get in with the worst of it, and DONT suck out, you probably think to yourself, "damn, didn't get lucky" and move on quickly. And when you DO manage to suckout, you are ecstatic!
Comparitively, when you go in ahead and end up winning, you also move on quickly, because what you expect to happen, happens. But when you go in ahead and get sucked out on, you think "F&^*^, that stupid donk, moth#^ F(*&%*%*%!!"... those seem to stick around in the head a little longer.
SIDENOTE: Almost makes you want to play bad, just to remember more happy moments than bad ones, eh?
That's why when you start to think you are getting sucked out on all the time and it feels like suddenly everyone else has the luck, you are playing good poker, and need to ride out the swings that come with it!
Though I like the excitement of going all in being the leader and screaming in my hand "HOLD!!!!" lol
Oh and that guy isn't bad... I played against a dude once who said mean things to me ... he was -14k on Sharkscope (too bad I can't remember the name) and his average stake was like 4$ ... How can you lose 14k 4$ at a time is beyond me !
the same thing will happen to you soon, i feel a post about you cashing coming soon:)
Try to remember you def WANT those calls, in the long run I will gaurantee those players havenot/do not withdraw funds at any time EVER!
Laugh it off and know later on in the tourney /cash game they will be broke!
There's just no way the odds justify playing those hands over and over, and their bankroll will suffer for it!
I know you think it only happens to you, but it doesn't, I should copy and past a post I wrote in another forum $1900 @30-60 limit in less than 15 hands!
Welcome those calls,always
cheers...
